The expansion seems to be a hit with players.
CD Projekt Red has revealed that the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than five million copies. CD Projekt Red made the reveal of the sales milestone in a social media post that thanked fans for their support.
Phantom Liberty released to the public on September 26, meaning that the five million copies sold came over a period of just three months. That's not too shabby when you also consider that...

Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake Listed as 2024 Release by PlayStation
Take with a grain of salt.
The Metal Gear Solid 3 remake, otherwise known as Meta Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater (the Δ is pronounced as "delta"), might be coming out some time this year. This year now being 2024, of course.
This is according to a new PlayStation advertisement that went up this week. This new advertisement is being used by PlayStation to shine a light on some of the titles that are coming out for the PlayStation 5 in 2024. Besides Metal Gear Solid... -

Steam No Longer Supports Windows 7, 8, and 8.1
If you haven't moved on, it's long past time you did.
Microsoft stopped officially supporting Windows 7 for regular users in 2020 and Windows 8.1 support ended in 2023. At best, you've had a year to update to a newer version of Windows. At worst, you've had four years. You should have moved to Windows 10 or Windows 11 by now if you are online at all with those operating systems. Years of no security updates is bad enough, but this week it just got worse.
Valve officially... -

Xbox Reveals New Game Pass Titles Arriving in the First Half of January 2024
Some good and some mediocre arrivals headline the new additions.
Microsoft just revealed the new titles that are being added to Game Pass in early January 2024. The list offered up on the Xbox Wire extends only until January 16th, which seems to suggest another batch of games for the second half of January will be revealed at a later date.
Starting today, the horror-adventure game about Nikola Tesla, Close to the Sun, is available starting January 3, 2024. That is otherwise... -

Resolving to lose weight is so 2000 and late.
It's a new year and a new you. Maybe it's the same you. Either way, it's still a new year. With New Years having come and gone, it's long past the time you probably made your New Year's resolutions.
This month's poll, and I admit it's kind of a lame one but I can't think of anything else right now, asks: Have you ever made a New Year's resolution related to gaming?
No, I do not mean 1080p or 4K, or whatever other... -

Star Wars Outlaws May or May Not Arrive in Late 2024
Schrodinger's Outlaws.
For a brief period of time, a narrowed down release window for the Ubisoft developed open-world heist game, Star Wars Outlaws, was known to the world. That window placed the game's release nearer to the end of 2024. Then Ubisoft came along and said "uhhh, no?"
The late 2024 release window was first shared online via a blog post from Disney Parks. The mention of the Star Wars Outlaws game said simply, "Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world... -

The guy that starred in a TV commercial for Pitfall is set to take on another iconic gaming role.

Shawn Zipay's Favorite Games of 2023
It was the best of years, it was the blurst of years.
2023 sucked, at least as far as the gaming and tech industries are concerned. It was an absolutely terrible year full of layoffs and "restructuring" plans across a multitude of companies. No matter how you phrase it, a lot of good developers and employees lost their jobs, and a lot of good studios were shut down and that is terrible. Hopefully 2024 is better on that front. Now, to make one of the least graceful topic transitions... -

The games coming on the 2nd include the action-adventure game A Plague Tale: Requiem, which is the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. Both titles are excellent and if you liked the first title you're probably going to... -

Grinch Releases Full Grand Theft Auto 5 Source Code to Public on Christmas
The shared content also includes files for Bully 2 and Grand Theft Auto 6.
It's still Christmas Eve here in the States, but in some parts of the world it's already Christmas Day. Perhaps it's that "spirit of giving" that pushed one "random British guy in the 360 modding community" to publicly release the full Grand Theft Auto 5 source code.
News of this public release started to trickle out late in the day on December 24. It was first mentioned by... -

Insomniac Games Shares Message Following Massive Hack
The studio says that they are "resilient."
Earlier in the week, over 1.6TB of stolen data from Insomniac Games was published online. Ransomware group, Rhysida, claimed responsibility and demanded 50 BTC for the stolen data, else they would release the data publicly. The time limit on the payment came and went and Rhysida did indeed release the stolen data to the public as they threatened to do.
Some of that stolen data included a wealth of gameplay and details... -

The Finals Surpasses 10 Million Players
That's a whole lot of destruction.
Embark Studios just launched their free-to-play team-based shooter on December 7th and already the game has pulled in more than 10 million players. The Finals had a surprise release during The Game Awards on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.
Executive producer on The Finals at Embark, Rob Runesson, offered a big thanks to players and fans for this rather lofty milestone. Runesson says that the team is "so humbled...
