Full Index VR Kits Now Available Without a Reservation

    Other SKUs coming soon.

Valve just put out a small announcement today saying that those looking to purchase the full Valve Index VR kit can do so right now without having to make a reservation. For the past month or so of release, the only way to actually purchase and obtain one of these kits was to make a reservation through Steam and wait patiently.

Right now, Valve is only offering the full Index VR bundle without a reservation and only in the United States. They say that other SKUs for the States will be coming soon. This probably means that...

Dust2 Lives on with Today's Release of Bizarre PC/VR/AR Title DUSTNET

Play Dust2 like you've never played it before.

DUSTNET is a new multiplayer deathmatch game that simultaneously resurrects and completely reimagines Dust2. And yes, when I say "Dust2" I am very much talking about de_dust2 from Counter-Strike. Only, this isn't Counter-Strike, or is it?

DUSTNET allows cross-platform play between those on PC, those playing in VR, and those using augmented reality (AR). Players go back to the ruins of an old server that is forever stuck on de_dust2. The game has changed. The world is a sandbox and what...

Espire 1: VR Operative Announced for PC VR Headsets and PlayStation VR

    It's virtually Metal Gear Solid.

Digital Lode and publisher Tripwire Interactive announced Espire 1: VR Operative this past week at E3 2019. The VR title utilizes new methods of moving in VR to nearly eliminate the feeling of motion sickness. Espire 1: VR Operative is a game that, at least on its surface, looks like a VR take on a certain tactical espionage action game. That is to say, it's a stealth action title.

The game is currently in development for VR devices on the PC in addition to the PlayStation VR. The game is looking to be released...

Space Ops VR is Out Now

A new VR co-op shooter has entered the game.

Space Ops VR is out today from publisher Fibrum and developer Devcube Studio. The game, which is available normally for $14.99 enlists players into the Space Ops, an "elite cadre of first-responders tasked with protecting humanity in outer space." There is a launch sale price available, which knocks a hefty 25% off of the previously mentioned price.

This one is compatible with the Vive, Oculus, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. I am going to assume that this includes all Oculus Rift branded...

  • Oculus Announces 'Rift S' and 'Quest' VR Headsets Releasing May 21 at $400 Each

Oculus held their F8 event today during which they revealed two new and very different VR headsets. In comparison to the also just announced $1,000 Valve Index, these two Oculus headsets start at $400 (or $399 if you want to be specific), and that's the price for the full package on both of these.

A major advantage with these two headsets, when compared to the Index, is the fact that they utilize inside-out tracking. That means they make use of headset mounted cameras and sensors to track your location within an environment in addition to the controller...

VR enthusiasts and VR hopefuls, I do hope you were sitting down when you read that headline. Valve announced the full details about their upcoming virtual reality headset that they're calling the Valve Index.

The Index now has an official release date, a full list of specifications, and even a set of confirmed prices. There are also a list of games that have been updated to include support for the new Index controllers. It's an impressive bit of hardware, without a doubt, but it's one that comes at a hefty price.

More Details About the Valve Index VR Headset Revealed

It's no real secret that Valve has been working on a new in-house first-party VR headset. Images of their development units were seen back in July 2018. Just this past week, a special page on the Steam Store was discovered that makes it very clear Valve is almost ready to start selling their VR hardware to the world.

The page on Steam tells us that their headset is called the Valve Index and that we can expect to see additional details starting May 2019. That was pretty much all we knew through the weekend. However, earlier today a few additional pages...

No Man's Sky Getting VR Support in Beyond Update

About two weeks back, the "Beyond" update for No Man's Sky was announced. At that time, we knew only a fraction of the content that the team at Hello Games is including in this update slated for release this Summer. Today, a bit more of their plans were revealed when the team announced that VR support is being added to the game as part of Beyond.

This VR support will be added to the PlayStation and PC versions of the game. PlayStation VR will obviously be the go to for PlayStation 4 owners, while PC owners will have their choice of Vive or...

Oculus Rift S VR Headset Announced - More of a Lateral Move Than an Upgrade

Today at GDC, Facebook announced a new version of their Oculus Rift headset that they're simply calling the Oculus Rift S. They announced a $399 (USD) price point for the device that will start shipping later this Spring.

On paper, the headset sounds like a decent device. It features an LCD 2560x1440 panel (1280x1440 per eye), better pixel density compared to the Rift, updated lenses, an 80Hz refresh rate, updated Oculus Touch controllers (functionally the same as the old ones), an adjustable halo strap similar to PlayStation VR.

An Official Groundhog Day VR Game was Just Announced

The original Groundhog Day movie came out back in 1993. It starred the always fantastic Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. It was written and directed by Egon himself, Harold Ramis (may he rest in peace).

The premise was simple: A weatherman (Murray) is stuck in Punxsutawney, PA doomed to repeat February 2, otherwise known as "Groundhog Day," for all eternity. It was part comedy, part depressing realizations, and part romance all rolled into a single film set in one location and on one day.

And now here in 2019, an official spiritual...
