Almost 14 Minutes of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Gameplay

It looks like a video game.

As part of their EA Play event, Respawn Entertainment and EA showed off about 15 minutes of actual gameplay for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We won't get into specifics about the game here. For that, you can check out our previous coverage.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is slated for release on November 15, 2019. ...

Watch the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Announcement Trailer

At the end of February, the world was alerted to the fact that Respawn Entertainment (Titanfall, Apex Legends) and EA would reveal a trailer for their new Star Wars title on this very day. It turns out, this scheduled event happened as planned.

    Imagine that.

Earlier today the studios revealed the first details and trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at the Star Wars Celebration that has been going on this weekend in Chicago. This is an original game set in the Star Wars universe and looks to take place after Order 66 was issued. This places the game set shortly...

EA Cancels Yet Another Star Wars Game (Update)

A headline like "EA Cancels Another Star Wars Game" feels like they're a dime a dozen these days. I think EA may have cancelled as many Star Wars games as they have closed studios at this point. Here we are again and here EA is with another cancelled EA game on their hands. This time, the development studio has decided to cancel its open-world Star Wars game that EA Vancouver had been working on. Prior to EA Vancouver working on this title, it was in development from Visceral Games. Of course, EA shut down Visceral Games back in 2017. In fact, when Visceral was working on the game it wasn't an open-world title but rather a more linear action-adventure game that was being directed by...

Jade Raymond Leaving EA After Just 3 Years

Jade Raymond is parting ways with EA and the EA Motive studio that she helped to found. Taking up the reigns as studio lead will be Samantha Ryan. Ryan already leads EA Mobile, Maxis, and a BioWare studio.

EA Motive was initially founded in 2015 after Raymond left Ubisoft. The first project for the studio was working with Amy Hennig on the now cancelled Star Wars title from the now closed Visceral Games. EA Motive at least got to put some of that work to use in helping out with Star Wars: Battlefront II. The studio then moved on to working on a new IP alongside BioWare. Despite Raymond's departure, EA remains committed to keeping ...

60 Parsecs Gives You 60 Seconds to to Survive

Robot Gentleman, the development studio behind 60 Seconds! have announced a follow-up game called 60 Parsecs! Much like its predecessor, 60 Parsecs! gives you 60 seconds to gather as much as you can to survive before you're jettisoned into space.

    Seems fair.

Also, it needs to be said that a parsec is a unit of length, not of time. I blame this common misconception on that damned Star Wars all the kids like these days.
Making the jump from claustrophobic atomic bomb shelter to even more claustrophobic space shuttle, 60 Parsecs! follows a diverse cast of characters who have no business being in space, let alone piloting a shuttle, as they try to find

  • BioWare Confirms More Mass Effect and Dragon Age are Coming but Focus Remains on Anthem

As part of their mid-Summer update, BioWare confirmed today that they are very much still working on the next iterations of both Dragon Age and Mass Effect. They say that those franchises are both still a significant part of their future even if the main focus right now is on Anthem.
This statement comes directly from Casey Hudson. Think what you will about ...

EA Shelves Another Star Wars Game Following Amy Hennig's Departure

In October 2017, EA shut down Visceral Games (RIP), which was working on an untitled Star Wars game. Development on the game, codenamed Ragtag, was led by the former Uncharted director Amy Hennig. The higher-ups at EA felt as though the game was too linear and shifted the development over to EA Vancouver following Visceral's premature death. According to a variety of reports, the game's development at EA Vancouver was rocky, at best. Fast-forward to this week when Hennig revealed what happened with the game's development and her current status. In speaking with Eurogamer at the Gamelab conference in Barcelona, Hennig reveals that she left EA back in January in order to start up he...

More Real Time Ray Tracing Demos from Epic Games and Futuremark

Fresh out of GDC 2018 come a few more tech demos showing off real time ray tracing technologies. These come just a day after Microsoft announced DirectX Raytracing along with support promised from Nvidia and AMD.

First up is a tech demo from Epic Games. It's Star Wars themed and looks stunning, as you would expect. There is a catch, but we'll get to that after the video.

  • First Star Wars Battlefront II Patch for 2018 is Live

First Star Wars Battlefront II Patch for 2018 is Live

The first patch in 2018 for Star Wars Battlefront II (from 2017), has just gone live courtesy of whomever is in charge of the multiplayer component from EA, DICE, Motive Studios, and Criterion Games. You see, because they're all listed as developers, save for EA whom is obviously the publisher for the game. Whatever, new update, let's go.

Sledgehammer70 passed along this hot news to the community today in a posting on the official Battlefront forums.
In our first patch of 2018, we're delighted to offer a new Blast map on the planet Crait and to introduce Iden Versio's TIE fighter to the roster of hero ships available in Starfighter Assault. Of course, we've also been digging into fan feedback and bug reports to make some fixes and balancing tweaks that we hope you'll enjoy.

This is just the first of many exciting updates in store, so please keep your feedback coming! We're always listening for ways to grow, fix, and improve the game.
You thought that was it? Haha, no sir. The full list of cha...

Star Wars: The Last Jedi Season Begins in Star Wars Battlefront II

Some free content is here now for Star Wars Battlefront II in the form of the the start of The Last Jedi Season. EA and DICE say that this is the first free season for the game, so I would expect the game to get more content similar to this some time down the line.
Finn joins the battle as a playable hero for the Resistance striving to keep the galaxy from oppression, while Captain Phasma is playable as a new villain leading the First Order in combat. Both characters are now unlocked without any Credits required for players, who log in during the season. Players can also immerse themselves in the authentic sounds

Star Wars Battlefront II Increases Rate at which Credits are Earned

In a new Star Wars Battlefront II blog, EA and DICE detail changes that have just recently been made to the rate at which players can earn Credits in the game. You know, Credits, the only form of currency that can be used to buy loot boxes in that game (at present). The short of it is that rates are being increased across the board, including daily login bonuses, and more.
The end-of-round payout has been increased. This is an area we agree needed to be buffed a bit, especially when it comes to rewarding players for doing well in-game. We're upping the number of Credits you get for a match across the board, and specifically bumping the top players on each
