CD Projekt Red has revealed that the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 has sold more than five million copies. CD Projekt Red made the reveal of the sales milestone in a social media post that thanked fans for their support.

Phantom Liberty released to the public on September 26, meaning that the five million copies sold came over a period of just three months. That's not too shabby when you also consider that Phantom Liberty was not released on old-gen console hardware like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It's also impressive numbers given how critical players were of the base game at release. Those countless updates and major overhaul to Cyberpunk 2077 really did earn a fair bit of good will amongst the player base.

Previously, we learned that the Phantom Liberty expansion had sold over three million units within its first week of availability. That information at the same time that CD Projekt Red announced that the base game surpassed 25 million copies sold. Sales of Phantom Liberty continued to be strong throughout 2023 thanks to a very positive reception to the expansion itself, the 2.0 update that overhauled major gameplay systems, the holiday sales, and the release of the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition.
