Classic RTS S.W.I.N.E. is Getting an HD Remaster for PC, Coming this Spring

The classic real-time strategy title, S.W.I.N.E., is getting an HD remaster for the PC. The new release is now appropriately called S.W.I.N.E. HD Remaster, and is targeting a release this Spring.

The original game was released back in 2001 by StormRegion. The HD Remaster is being worked on by Kite Games, the same team behind Sudden Strike 4. If you desire, you can already add the game to your Steam wishlist.

True to most modern HD remasters, this release will feature 16:9 support, better textures, anti-aliasing support, v-sync, screen selection, and a full-screen...

  • Battlefield V 2019 Roadmap Reveals New Map Releases and New Theater of War

DICE has finally provided the roadmap for Battlefield V through Fall 2019. Included in this roadmap are mentions of new maps, which look to begin in May, and a new theater of war. Given the name of the new theater, Awakening the Giant, slated for Fall 2019, is the upcoming theater of war.

Given the title of that new theater, I think it's safe to say that they're referencing the United States. This is based off of the famous quote from Japanese Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto in reference to the United States following the attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan.

    If there's...

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 Announced, Pre-orders Available Now

After multiple weeks and a few months of teases, including a long running ARG surrounding a dating app called Tinder, we now have an official announcement of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Paradox Interactive made the big reveal just moments ago via a GDC party. The party was "supposed" to be for a new Tinder reveal but thanks to some unintentionally cheesy live-action role playing, it turned out to be a big reveal for Bloodlines 2.

This is a direct sequel to the previous title that came out back in 2004 on the very same day that Half-Life 2 was released....

  • The Outer Worlds, Remedy's Control, Detroit: Become Human, and More Announced as Epic Games Store Timed Exclusives

As part of today's GDC presentation, Epic Games announced a number of timed exclusives that are coming first to the Epic Games Store. Among these games are The Outer Worlds, Control from Remedy Entertainment, and even some PlayStation 4 exclusives like Detroit: Become Human from Quantic Dream.

Some of these titles, such as The Outer Worlds, will also appear on the Microsoft Store for Windows 10. I guess this just lends more confirmation that Epic is less about purchasing exclusives and more about simply paying companies to keep their games off of Steam. Consumers should not...

The Culling Servers Shutting Down in May

If you are one of the 32 players currently still playing The Culling on PC, you may be sad to hear that the game's servers will be shutting down on May 15. Of course, this also means that the servers for the Xbox One version are going away and I'm guessing that there are maybe a few more players on that platform? Who knows anymore. The game is pretty dead either way.

In case you forgot, Xaviant had gone back to The Culling after developing, releasing, and then pulling The Culling 2 after being on sale for just 8 days from July 10-18, 2018. Xaviant had returned back to the...

  • Valve Will Now Remove 'Off-Topic Review Bombs' from Steam User Scores

Valve Will Now Remove 'Off-Topic Review Bombs' from Steam User Scores

Valve has had a major problem these past few years with user submitted reviews. One of the biggest issues with user reviews, be they on Steam or anywhere, is when a push is made by a community to review bomb a game or other form of media. These usually result in a ton of negative reviews in a short span of time for a product because of some perceived slight by a studio concerning a game.

Steam displays user scores in a couple of ways. They show the average of the most recent scores given to a title and the average of all of the reviews from the start. So while the short-term...
