Schrodinger's Outlaws.
A human and robot stare at each other.

For a brief period of time, a narrowed down release window for the Ubisoft developed open-world heist game, Star Wars Outlaws, was known to the world. That window placed the game's release nearer to the end of 2024. Then Ubisoft came along and said "uhhh, no?"

The late 2024 release window was first shared online via a blog post from Disney Parks. The mention of the Star Wars Outlaws game said simply, "Star Wars Outlaws, the open-world Star Wars game is set to release late this year." It continues to briefly explain the premise of the game saying that you play as Kay Vess, an "emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life." The post also mentioned Nix, Vess's partner in space crimes. It also said that you would be exploring "distinct plants across the galaxy, both iconic and new."

It looks like Disney was a little off the mark on this. Shortly after going live, the blog post was updated to say that it's just set to release in 2024. Maybe Ubisoft plans to get the game out earlier than the end of 2024? Maybe someone at Disney knows that it won't be out until late in the year and Ubisoft doesn't want the world to know there's a long wait? Assuming Star Wars Outlaws isn't delayed like a certain other Ubisoft title, the game should be out at some point over the next 364 days (remember, we're in a leap year).
