    Code is from a 2018 leak.

    Update (April 22, 2020 at 9:18PM ET): According to a statement issued to PC Gamer from Valve, the leaked code is only for CS:GO, but it does include "very old pieces of Team Fortress 2." Valve says that they will continue to investigate.

    CS:GO surges as DOTA 2 flounders.

    This past weekend was a real banner couple of days for Counter-Strike players and fans. Not only did Counter-Strike: Global Offensive surpass its all-time concurrent player count, but it did so twice!

    On Saturday, CS:GO had surpassed 888,000 people playing the game at once. This all-time high bested a near 7-year long record. The old all-time high came on August 21, 2012 when CS:GO had topped out at over 854,000 players.

    Native American Quinault Tribal Nation members have filed a lawsuit in the state of Washington against Valve over skins gambling. The group accuses Valve of participating in "unethical, oppressive, and unscrupulous business conduct."

    This week, security researchers from Russia's Dr.Web (PDF), filed a report saying that roughly 39% of Counter-Strike 1.6 servers were used to spread malware to users. The report, filed on Monday, found that these malicious servers exploited a remote code execution (RCE) flaw in the game client to spread a new malware variant called Belonard.

    An update was released tonight for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Today's update includes a number of gameplay altering changes. First off, the AUG has been returned to its original price of $3,300. Secondly, Valve has changed the M4A1-S to hold 25 bullets in the magazine with 75 in reserve.     Valve just released a new update for Counter-Strike: Global OFfensive today that should provide a nice boost to performance for some players. Included in today's update is an optional command line switch that can reduce CPU usage by up to 40%.
