Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Update Adds Microtransactions to View Stats

CS:GO 360 Stats is a subscription service to see stats that were previously free to view.

An update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive came out last night that has angered some players. Ok, it's angered a lot of players out there. First off, Operation Broken Fang has come to an end. You will have until May 15th in order to claim your rewards for said operation.

There are, naturally, other changes included in this update. For instance, Valve has removed Train from the...

  • Watch Wannabe CSGO Cheaters Get Trolled by Fake Cheat Software

Watch Wannabe CSGO Cheaters Get Trolled by Fake Cheat Software

It's one of those "feel good" movies.

Cheaters. We all hate them. If you ever played Counter-Strike over the many, many years that it's been around, you've probably encountered your fair share of cheaters big and small. We've all probably wanted to do something about it, but we've been at the mercy of anti-cheat software like VAC for ages now. What could we, a lowly player possibly do besides report and cross our fingers that the cheaters would eventually get caught?

  • Counter-Strike Turns 21

    Counter-Strike Turns 21

    Old enough to drink.

Apparently, today is the birthday for Counter-Strike. I think technically it was yesterday, June 18, but we aren't the official record keepers by any means. The official word comes from a short, but sweet tweet that went out from the official CS:GO Twitter account. ...

  • Steam and CS:GO Break Concurrent User Records Yet Again

Steam and CS:GO Break Concurrent User Records Yet Again

Actually, they broke records twice this weekend.

It seems like Valve isn't a fan of vinyl because they've been busy breaking records left and right this past month. In early February, we brought you word about how Counter-Strike: Global Offensive broke its old concurrent player record twice in the same weekend. Once the dust settled on the whirlwind weekend of February 8-9, 2020, the top number saw over 901,000 concurrent players enjoying CS:GO at one time. This had beaten a record...

While the Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Katowice event is still to continue as scheduled, nobody will be allowed to watch the action in person. This almost literal eleventh hour change of plans came directly from an order issued by Polish authorities. This is all being done as a precautionary measure against the coronavirus (COVID-19).

In short: Find something else to do with your time. Those running the event say that they are currently...

  • Counter-Strike Broke Peak Player Records Twice this Weekend

Counter-Strike Broke Peak Player Records Twice this Weekend

CS:GO surges as DOTA 2 flounders.

This past weekend was a real banner couple of days for Counter-Strike players and fans. Not only did Counter-Strike: Global Offensive surpass its all-time concurrent player count, but it did so twice!

On Saturday, CS:GO had surpassed 888,000 people playing the game at once. This all-time high bested a near 7-year long record. The old all-time high came on August 21, 2012 when CS:GO had topped out at over 854,000 players.

    That's...

Play Dust2 like you've never played it before.

DUSTNET is a new multiplayer deathmatch game that simultaneously resurrects and completely reimagines Dust2. And yes, when I say "Dust2" I am very much talking about de_dust2 from Counter-Strike. Only, this isn't Counter-Strike, or is it?

Valve Being Sued by Native American Nation Over Skins Gambling

Native American Quinault Tribal Nation members have filed a lawsuit in the state of Washington against Valve over skins gambling. The group accuses Valve of participating in "unethical, oppressive, and unscrupulous business conduct."

The plaintiffs own and operate the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. They argue that Valve has engaged in unfair competition with legally licensed gambling operations.
