David Eddings Details Abuse from Randy Pitchford

Accusations include a wet-willy and aggressive shoving.

One week ago, the dispute between Gearbox's Randy Pitchford and former Gearbox employee David Eddings went public in a hurry. It seemed as though this was largely over a pay dispute between the two parties but, as with most things involving Randy Pitchford, there's a bit more to it than that.

Eddings has claimed, on more than one occasion now, that Randy Pitchford physically assaulted him. These allegations really came to light a few days ago when Eddings posted the following series of tweets. He mentions how he...

This is Why Claptrap has a New Voice Actor in Borderlands 3

David Eddings says Gearbox just didn't want to pay him.

If you've seen any promotional material for Borderlands 3 in the past couple of weeks, you may have noticed that Claptrap sounds quite a bit different from what you're used to. This is because David Eddings, the voice behind the robot in all of the previous games has been replaced by Jim Foronda.

The reason? Money. Specifically, the claim from Eddings that Gearbox didn't want to pay Eddings for his work in Borderlands 3.

Yesterday on Twitter, a fan asked Eddings if he was still voicing Claptrap in Borderlands...

All of that Borderlands 3 talk aside, there is some exciting news today for existing owners of the first few Borderlands games today. Those that own the first Borderlands, or Borderlands 2, or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel now have some HD upgrades along with some new content in a couple of cases.

Today, Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition was released on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. For the console players, you'll have to buy this one fresh. Those that own the game on PC will get a free upgrade to the Enhanced release via Steam. There does seem to be a small issue...

  • Borderlands 3 Dated for September 13, 2019 - Confirmed Six Month Exclusive to Epic Games Store

Borderlands 3 will officially be released on September 13, 2019 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Epic Games Store for PC. In case you missed the obvious "hints" dropped earlier this week, or were in denial as I repeatedly saw from people on other sites, the PC release is indeed a six month timed exclusive on the Epic Game Store before it will hit other PC storefronts like Steam.

However, the point of this isn't to talk about how completely bullshit exclusives are, especially when it comes to the PC market, but we are instead here to talk about Borderlands...

  • Now Deleted Borderlands 3 Tweets Suggest September 13 Release on Epic Store (Updated)

Earlier today, the official Borderlands 3 Twitter account put up some now deleted tweets. Normally this wouldn't be a "thing" to care about, but these particular tweets included some previously unknown information about the release of Borderlands 3.

Among the information revealed is the potential release date for the game. The date looks to be September 13, 2019. In addition, it seems as though pre-orders for the game will get access to the Gold Weapon Skins Pack, a similar pre-order bonus to the one offered with the release of Borderlands 2. It also seems as though...

The original Borderlands was released back in 2009. On April 3, 2019, that game will return as Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition. According to 2K, this will be free to everyone that owns Borderlands on PC via Steam. This also marks the release date for the game on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In addition to including all of the previously released content, there will be some actual gameplay adjustments made in this release.

The inventory will be streamlined. There will now be a minimap similar to...

Today during the PAX East 2019 panel from Gearbox, it was revealed that Borderlands 2 and Borderlands The Pre-Sequel will each get Ultra HD texture packs as a free download. These new textures will be for almost everything in the game including characters, vehicles, weapons, and environments.

In addition to these higher resolution textures, the extra content will include higher resolution dynamic shadows, better screen space ambient occlusion (SSAO), and improved anti-aliasing.

Gearbox Teases Some Borderlands Reveal for PAX East 2019

Late in February, Gearbox announced that they will have a presence at PAX East 2019. Today, the development studio put an exclamation point on that announcement by teasing something that looks a hell of a lot like the Borderlands art style.

The tweet was nothing more than the ubiquitous eyes emoji 👀 along with a stylized road sign saying "March 28" and "Boston, MA" in the Borderlands style. I'm assuming this is going to be Gearbox's big Borderlands 3 reveal. It's either that or they are just being massive jerks and there won't be anything Borderlands related...

  • Former Gearbox Lawyer Claims CEO Randy Pitchford Took Secret $12 Million Bonus in Lawsuit Gearbox Claims is 'Absurd'

Buckle up, everyone, because this is going to be a real doozy of a news post.

There are two lawsuits recently filed between Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford and the former general counsel for Gearbox. They're both suing each other, both claiming the other were in violation of their legal responsibilities to the company. The lawsuit against Pitchford from the former Gearbox lawyer Wade Callender says that Pitchford received a secret $12 million bonus from Take-Two Interactive.

Callender's lawsuit, filed December 21, 2018, also says that Pitchford is in violation of some contracts that involve Gearbox and a "separate real estate company" that both of them owned. Gearbox says that these accusations are "absurd" in a brief statement released today by a Gearbox spokesperson. ...

Borderlands 2 VR Announced for PlayStation VR

A new Borderlands game was announced today! Yay! But it's a re-release of Borderlands 2? Ehh. But it's in VR! Yay! But it's only for PlayStation VR. Boo. It's also only single player. Boo! I have many conflicting emotions about this announcement!

Anyway, Borderlands 2 VR was announced today for PlayStation VR. That's really what I was getting at here.
Key features for Borderlands 2 VR on PS VR include:Virtually Step onto Pandora: Step into the boots of a treasure-seeking Vault Hunter armed with 87 bazillion possible guns on a quest to line your pockets with loot and free Pandora from Handsome Jack's clutches. Blast bandits with real-world

    Final Review: We Happy Few

    A fleeting Joy.
The other week, I put up a review in progress for We Happy Few. For the sake of simplicity, I left that intact below this "final" review section up top here. So, how did We Happy Few fare given the extra time I spent with it? Not well. Not well at all. As the hours continued on, the love affair I had with the game started to chip away. At first it was just a minor annoyance when I would run into issues like poor A.I., but it became harder and harder to ignore. There are only so many times where you could just write off seeing an NPC become stuck on world geometry and walk in place. There are only so many times where it stops being surprising to see NPCs appear and disappear on the exact second of sunrise and sunset. I lost track of how many NPCs I have seen "sitting" in the air, a ways away from any actual chair. Sadly, these were all experiences encountered after a massive patch for the game that came out shortly after release. A mechanic in the game finds you consuming Joy...

How One Letter Completely Broke Aliens: Colonial Marines AI

This is a little piece of interesting news I'm starting to see make the rounds this evening. About five years after its disastrous release, it has been discovered that a single letter managed to break a significant part of the A.I. for Aliens: Colonial Marines.

The creator the highly regarded overhaul mod called TemplarGFX's Aliens Colonial Marines Overhaul, found that because a programmer misspelled the word "Tether" in an .ini file, most of the A.I. became a massively dumbed down version of what it should have been in that game.

I'll let him provide the details.
A new update will be coming soon with this change included, however after getting reports back from several players on how much this effects the game, I just had to post it now I

Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition Rated for PC, PS4, and XB1

Over in Korea, they're quite busy rating games that have not yet been publicly announced yet. The latest seems to be Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition which has been rated for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Either the Korean ratings board is just super board and wanting to troll the world or there is something to these mysterious new ratings that they're handing out.

2K first released the original Borderlands for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC back in late 2009. They have not yet appeared on current-generation platforms, unlike the sequels. Both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: the Pre-Sequel were remastered...
