Borderlands 3 on Stadia is an Old Build Running at Just 30FPS

    What a mess.

The Stadia launch just continues to deliver. Deliver what? Well, not a great experience for most users. Today's launch of Borderlands 3 on the platform is certainly no exception.

Today's release of Borderlands 3 is old. By that, I mean the build of the game on Stadia is from around October 24. It didn't take any sort of digging or examination of details from the game to find this out either. Gearbox voluntarily let their consumers know that this is an old...

Battleborn Servers to Shut Down in January 2021

I bet you thought this game shut down years ago.

The good news is that Battleborn isn't dead. Who knew, right? The bad news is that it will be once January 2021 rolls around. 2K announced via Twitter that they will be deactivating the servers for Battleborn in a little over a year from now.

They also pulled the game from every digital storefront they could. I'm sure the millions of you that were still on the fence about picking it up for a year full of fun and merriment...

Randy Pitchford, Gearbox, and Their Former Lawyer Drop Lawsuits

All parties resolve "misunderstandings" as evidence exonerates Randy Pitchford.

If you need to get up to speed on what is going on here, I suggest you check out the previous update from August where we go over the events of this long legal battle between Gearbox, Randy Pitchford, and Gearbox's former lawyer, Wade Callender. In short, Pitchford and Callender were suing each other over various grievances. Everyone involved came off as incredibly scummy in their own way. Like...

Borderlands 3 Becomes Fastest Selling Title Published by 2K

Sales surpassed 5 million units in first five days.

2K announced this past week that Borderlands 3 sales have surpassed more than 5 million units in its first five days of being on sale. They note that "50% more consumers purchased Borderlands 3 versus sales of its predecessor." They do specify here that they are talking about Borderlands 2 and not Borderlands: The Pre-sequel when talking about the "predecessor" here.

This equates to a few things for...

Take Early Borderlands 3 Reviews with a Grain of Salt

Copies of Borderlands 3 given to only a select few review sites ahead of launch.

Review copies of Borderlands 3 have only been provided to a select few media outlets ahead of the game's launch on Friday, September 13. The game's publisher, 2K, says that this is all due in part to some unspecified "security concerns" over the game.

As Kotaku points out, most review copies are provided to outlets roughly a week or two ahead of the public launch. These review copies...

Borderlands 3 will be released on September 13, 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store. It will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store for a period of six months until being more widely released on the PC. That is, assuming, plans don't change between now and then.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford Accused of Contempt in New Court Filing

"All (the Internet) care about is if my next video game is good or not."

On Tuesday, former Gearbox lawyer, Wade Callender, filed a motion in Dallas County district court for contempt and has requested sanctions against Gearbox. The filing allegs "discovery abuse" and a failure to produce various court-ordered documents. This is the latest is a very long back-and-forth legal battle between Callender and Gearbox that started back in late 2018.

No Cross-platform Play for Borderlands 3 at Launch

Randy Pitchford finally shot that rumor down.

A few days back, the Borderlands 3 Twitter promised an upcoming "celebration of togetherness." Many took that little teaser to mean that Gearbox was going to announce that Borderlands 3 would ship with cross-platform play support.

Well, it doesn't have cross-platform support. Today's "celebration" was for something that really wasn't even close to cross-platform support. Yesterday, Randy Pitchford finally...

David Eddings Details Abuse from Randy Pitchford

Accusations include a wet-willy and aggressive shoving.

One week ago, the dispute between Gearbox's Randy Pitchford and former Gearbox employee David Eddings went public in a hurry. It seemed as though this was largely over a pay dispute between the two parties but, as with most things involving Randy Pitchford, there's a bit more to it than that.

Eddings has claimed, on more than one occasion now, that Randy Pitchford physically assaulted him. These allegations really...

This is Why Claptrap has a New Voice Actor in Borderlands 3

David Eddings says Gearbox just didn't want to pay him.

If you've seen any promotional material for Borderlands 3 in the past couple of weeks, you may have noticed that Claptrap sounds quite a bit different from what you're used to. This is because David Eddings, the voice behind the robot in all of the previous games has been replaced by Jim Foronda.

The reason? Money. Specifically, the claim from Eddings that Gearbox didn't want to pay Eddings for his work in Borderlands...
