Review: Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

15 years and a fresh coat of paint later.

Almost 15 years to the day that the original Age of Empires III was released comes the remastered Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Love it or hate it, the original certainly left an impression on fans of the franchise. I am not saying all those impressions were necessarily good, but they were impressions none the less.

What we have here is a remastering of one of the more divisive Age of Empires games released. Upon first...

The team at Larian Studios say that they will be working directly with the community on iterating and improving the game. This includes adding new content...

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Delayed

Pre-patch also pushed out to October 13.

Blizzard just said that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the next major expansion for their still popular MMORPG, has been delayed. It has been pushed back now until "later this year" with a solid release date not yet revealed. As is typical for these sorts of delays, the delay was an "incredibly difficult decision for the team" but they ultimately feel as though it was the "right decision for the game--and for (the)...

Review: Crysis Remastered Is One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Maximum meh.

In 2007 the original Crysis was released for the PC. The big question on everyone's mind at the time, and even through to today, is "can your PC run Crysis?" Usually, the answer was "yes, but…" because even the beefiest of computer hardware had trouble maxing out the graphical options that Crysis brought to the table at the time.

Fast-forward to 2020 and the answer gets a bit more muddled. See, the original Crysis was very dependent on...

  • Battlefield V Summer Update Trailer

    Battlefield V Summer Update Trailer

Two maps, lots of new gear, and more.

DICE just deployed an overview trailer for the upcoming Summer Update for Battlefield V. This update is presumed to be the final content update for the game and may very well be the final update overall for the game. You know, except if there are some major issues that still need to be addressed after this update is released.

Speaking of release, the update actually came out on June 4. Why wait until now for the trailer to be released?...

    Next Battlefield Confirmed for 2021

Support for Battlefront II and Battlefield V ending.

DICE recently announced that they are bringing an end to new content updates for both Star Wars Battlefront II and Battlefield V. Just this past week, we brought you word about how DICE was ditching all future Battlefield V chapters and would have a final content drop arrive this Summer.

In addition, this week's release of the Battle on Scarif update for Battlefront II marks that particular game's final content update....

  • DICE Cancels All Future Battlefield V Chapters

DICE Cancels All Future Battlefield V Chapters

No Normandy. No Eastern Front. It's all done.

For the developers at DICE, the war is over. The team has made the decision to ditch their "Chapter" idea, which effectively brings an end to their idea that "every chapter brings a new battlefield." Originally, DICE had a grand idea to take players through a significant chunk of WWII. Their idea was to spread out the war over a series of chapters. Each chapter would take us to a new period of time and location in the...

Battlefield 5 Chapter 6 - Into the Jungle - By the Numbers

    One map.

As was expected, DICE and EA dropped a new trailer this morning for Battlefield V's sixth chapter, Into the Jungle. Today, the studios showed off a new trailer for the upcoming chapter, plus dropped some information on the extent of the new content players can expect going forward.

Chapter 6, Into the Jungle, launches on February 6. This chapter will continue the fight between the United States and Japan. Instead of open beaches, this new chapter will take you...

The Next Battlefield 5 Chapter to be Revealed Tomorrow

    We're still in the Pacific.

EA and DICE announced today that they will reveal the sixth chapter in their ever ongoing Tides of War content for Battlefield V. This new chapter is appropriately called Into the Jungle and it takes us, you guessed it, into some dense jungle environments. Well, there's at least one dense jungle environment.

There's no saying how many new maps this next chapter will actually bring, though certain wording in official statements seem to indicate...

  • Private Matches for Battlefield V Finally Arrive Next Week

Private Matches for Battlefield V Finally Arrive Next Week

But they won't be called Private Matches.

DICE announced that their planned Private Matches feature is finally coming to Battlefield V. It will arrive on all platforms on December 9, but they won't be called Private Matches. Instead, DICE is calling them Community Games.

I can only imagine that the Battlefield V community is having some very mixed feelings right about now. There are probably wars being waged right now on Battlefield forums and subreddits between those...

  • DICE Nerfed the TTK Yet Again in Battlefield V

DICE Nerfed the TTK Yet Again in Battlefield V

Almost one year later and DICE is repeating the same exact mistakes.

Back on December 12, 2018, DICE decided to adjust the TTK (Time To Kill) for weapons in Battlefield V. A lot of the changes made weapons a fair bit less effective at actually taking out enemies. DICE said that they found that their "wider player base was dying too fast." That is to say, the shorter TTK wasn't too friendly for new players. To say that the core Battlefield community hated the changes is probably...

New Overview for Operation Underground Map for Battlefield V

DICE provides a fresh look at an old favorite.

DICE is set to release the Operation Underground map for Battlefield V very soon. In fact, it may actually be released this week. Operation Underground is essentially a Battlefield V take on Operation Metro from Battlefield 3. It was first announced back in June during EA's E3 event.

This week, a new preview for the map provides us with a new trailer. We learn that the original designer of Operation Metro was also the lead...
