DICE just announced the Dark Protocol event for Battlefield 2042. This new event will run for two weeks starting on Tuesday, October 31. It will come to an end on Tuesday, November 14.

In Dark Protocol, players will jump into a 12 vs 12 game mode called Killswitch that will take place across a series of maps: Redacted, Manifest, Hourglass, and Spearhead. As players take control of nodes, they will be able to "print"...

DICE just lifted the lid on the Update 6.0.0 for Battlefield 2042. This update will arrive on 4AM (ET) on October 10. A few hours after Update 6.0.0 deploys, Season 6: Dark Creations and its new Battle Pass will go live. Dark Creations is the name for Battlefield 2042's sixth season. Set to arrive on October 10, Dark Creations will add in a new map, new gadgets, and offer various gameplay improvements. There will also be a bunch of cosmetic items offered through the Season 6 Battle Pass, which again offers both a free track and a Premium track if you spend a bit of cash (or have enough Coins saved from previous season passes).

A new anti-cheat has entered the battlefield.

Electronic Arts just announced that they are working on implementing their own anti-cheat (or anticheat), into their current and upcoming multiplayer titles. Much like the simply named EA app, EA's new anticheat is called EA anticheat. Yes, that lack of capitalization is correct and slightly frustrating to look at.

Revolutionary new ideas still being added to Battlefield 2042.

When DICE "improved" the squad system in Battlefield 2042, they left a lot to be desired. I cannot even remember what exactly they did to improve it, but those improvements still failed to give much of any control to how your squad functions in the game. You were unable to lock your squad. You also couldn't kick anybody from the squad if, for example, a vacant slot fills with a random after your friend's game...

Apparently, ever since Season 5 of Battlefield 2042 launched this past week, there have been issues with player stats not updating. These are the stats you can see under your Player Profile and include information like your K/D ratio, win rate, weapon and gadget statistics, and more.

The Battlefield 2042 team at DICE took note of the issue and have deployed a fix for the broken stat tracking. The bad news is that they have to roll back...

It seems as though DICE and EA pulled a fast one on all of us. Battlefield 2042 Season 5: New Dawn was supposed to be the fifth and final season for the futuristic multiplayer FPS. I say supposed to be, because they just announced a sixth season earlier today.
