Reply to The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes is Now Available
    by K-16
I'm sad about this game after seeing your tweet. I watched a Let's Play elsewhere (I'll buy this game either way after a large discount as per usual), and the story pacing wasn't my cup of tea. I can only watch it if you and Links play with your usual hijinks and humor.

Hmm... Well good to hear it's not one of those betas where the game comes out in less than a month, and nobody has a clue what the point of it was aside from confirming the beta is already gold.

AMD Releases Fix for Windows 11 Bug that Impacted Ryzen Performance
    by Shawn Zipay
This is just one part of the fix however.

Earlier this month, it became apparent that there were some issues with AMD Ryzen performance when using Windows 11. In fact, these issues were present since some of the earliest betas for Windows 11 but they largely went ignored until the operating system's first public release. Some testing showed that system performance could decrease by roughly 15% compared to the same hardware running on Windows 10. At the time, AMD and Microsoft said...

New Uncharted Trailer Shows Off Iconic Scene from Third Game
    by Shawn Zipay
Hey! Hey I saw this before!

A new trailer for the upcoming Uncharted film made its way online today. Well, it made its way online last night through a leaked, shaky cam upload by someone, but we don't talk about that here. The official release of the trailer shows off the youngster known as Tom Holland playing one Nathan Drake. It also features a mustache-less Sully played by Mark Wahlberg.

The trailer footage should be immediately familiar to those who are fans of the...

DICE Shares What They Learned from the Battlefield 2042 Beta
    by Shawn Zipay
Specialists are still here to stay though.

DICE has a new and rather lengthy write-up about what they learned from the recent Battlefield 2042 beta that took place. First and foremost, the Specialists are here to stay. You may want to get used to them now because the "traditional" classes as you have come to know them from previous titles are no more.

DICE says that they "see Specialists as the next evolution of the classic Battlefield class system that will...

Five Additional Specialists Revealed for Battlefield 2042
    by Shawn Zipay
New Specialists bring new abilities to the Battlefield.

Love them or hate them, the Specialists are here to stay in Battlefield 2042. The recent beta for the game only featured four out of the ten Specialists that the game will launch with, which often made it seem like there was a lack of variety between players. Most people definitely gravitated towards the grapple hook after all.

The other five Specialists were revealed today by DICE and they include: Constantin "Angel"...

RPG-themed Steam Digital Tabletop Sale is Now Underway
    by Shawn Zipay
Perfect for those that like tabletop games but also video games.

Valve just launched their latest Steam Digital Tabletop Fest. The latest is focused on RPG games and runs from today, October 21st through to October 25 at 10AM (PT). This sale is perfect for those that like tabletop games but prefer that they come in video game format instead. It's an odd paradox, but it makes sense in a weird sort of way.

I'm not going to pretend like I understand how you can have a tabletop...

Reply to As Expected, Activision Blizzard is Looking to Weasel Way Out of California Lawsuit
    by K-16
I hate the fact that the state made such a blunder with their conflict of interest lawyers. It's like we're watching an evil vs. evil fight, and the employees are the ones who (continue to) lose in the end.

Meanwhile I'm going to assume pre-order sales of Call of Duty: Vanguard are doing just fine, simply by hiding Activision's name from it. And the world is still excited for Overwatch 2 for its amazing upcoming gameplay... Or Bastion's new hat I guess, I dunno, we get appeased easily....

No Man's Sky's Newest Expedition Features a Giant Dune-like Worm
    by Shawn Zipay
But will there be any spice?

Hello Games just keeps on delivering the goods when it comes to No Man's Sky. The game's newest expedition, Emergence, tasks players with hunting down a massive space worm, eliminating the "wretched Hungering Tendrils," and then collecting "the Vile Spawn that lingers behind."

Expeditions were first added to No Man's Sky in March 2021. They are structured chunks of adventures that players can optionally partake of. These...

Next-gen Upgrades for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 are Delayed
    by Shawn Zipay
Fans will need to wait a bit longer for all that upgraded eye candy.

CD Projekt Red announced that they would release a next-gen version of The Witcher 3 would be coming at some point in 2021. The studio announced this free, next-gen upgrade back in September 2020, but as 2021 is nearing an end CD Projekt Red realized that they just won't make their deadline.

The development studio just announced that they are pushing back the release date from a nebulous 2021 window to...

'The Hidden' Game Mode Coming to Pavlov VR
    by Shawn Zipay
Fans of The Hidden: Source have reason to rejoice.

Once upon a time, there existed a Half-Life 2 mod called The Hidden: Source. It actually began life as a mod for the original Half-Life before a new team brought it to Source. Technically, the mod still exists now but it hasn't been updated in years. For a time, it was hugely popular and still manages to have a handful of dedicated players these days.

In The Hidden: Source, one person played as "The Hidden,"...

New Starfield Trailer Shows Off 'Settled Systems' and Factions
    by Shawn Zipay
War. War never changes... even in space.

Bethesda released a new trailer for their upcoming sci-fi, space-themed, RPG we have come to know and love as Starfield. This new trailer provides us all with a look at some of the game's setting, which seems to be a "small pocket of the Milky Way." This place is called the Settled Systems and they are inhabited by a bunch of different, potentially dangerous factions.

These Settled Systems are located about 50 light years...

    by K-16
Apparently it's being sold in one more region, which is Canada, through Xbox's Gear Shop at some point during the 2021 Holiday Season (Aaron Greenberg believes there should be units in Canada sometime in December). No details on when pre-orders start, how many units available, nor MSRP in CAD. Aaron says to keep an eye on Xbox Canada's Twitter page.

Originally thought to be sold from Target and shipped to Canada, some kind of updated communication has Target saying NO! I'm guessing...

Bungie is Being Greedy Again as Studio Plans to Charge Extra for New Dungeons

And you all thought it was because of Activision.

Bungie has officially confirmed that two new Destiny 2 dungeons that are planned to be released in 2022 will not be included in the Season Pass or even the Standard Edition of the upcoming expansion, The Witch Queen. Instead, Bungie states that you will either need to purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen or purchase the dungeons separately later.

Bungie actually announced this back in August when they...
