An unexpected crossover.
On Tuesday, July 9 through Tuesday, July 16 a crossover event will see Dead Space invading Battlefield 2042. For that limited time, Outbreak will be a featured game mode and players will also be able to get some Dead Space themed cosmetic items.
In Outbreak, squads will go up against AI controlled foes while trying to escape from the Boreas lab.
There will be free rewards that you can unlock during the event. These include a new weapon charm and skin, plus a new player card background and tag. There will also be a paid Dead Space bundle that includes the "Marked Man" outfit, 3 legendary weapon skins, and more. This bundle will run you 2200 Battlefield Coins.
This is truly a bizarre crossover. Battlefield 2042 is literally near end of life and a Dead Space 2 remake hasn't even been greenlit. Why now? Why this late in 2042's life? There isn't even a Battlefield blog post about this, nor is the trailer available on YouTube (they only posted it to Twitter). It almost feels like another kick in the pants to Dead Space fans.

by Shawn ZipayBattlefield 2042 is a shallow, feature-lacking mess of a game that appeals to neither long-time franchise fans nor newcomers.
The release of Battlefield 2042 on November 19th should have been a joyous occasion for fans of the franchise. Instead, what the world received was a broken mess of a game that has long-standing "legacy" features removed, barren maps, and a tone that was often at odds with itself. Even after receiving three major post-launch updates, there is very...-

by Shawn ZipayHelicopters about to be a whole lot more annoying.
If you thought taking down helicopters, especially the stealth choppers, were a pain in the ass before just you wait for Update 5.0.0 to drop for Battlefield 2042.
Update 5.0.0 for Battlefield 2042 will arrive on Wednesday alongside the launch of Season 5 for the game. This (presumably) last season for Battlefield 2042 is set to add a new map, Reclaimed, along with new weapons, gadgets, a 100-tier Battle Pass, quality...-

AzaleaBC Fun fact, it's your comment here that led to my friends and I uninstalling 2042 tonight and installing BF5 again.
The last of us in our group finished the 2042 season 7 pass tonight. While playing our usual Tuesday night Battlefield we got to talking about BF5. I mentioned how a comment on my site said BF5 has double the player count just on Steam as compared to 2042. I mentioned how I wouldn't mind going back to it over the summer before the next Battlefield comes out to disappoint us all. Long story short, we all agreed. After we got done playing tonight, we all uninstalled 2042 and reinstalled BF5 in prep for next week's Battlefield gaming.
