Sega Announces Another Ten Titles Coming with the Sega Genesis Mini

We dropped the ball on the original launch lineup, I fully admit that. However, I aim to correct that oversight by telling you about the SEGA Genesis Mini and the games that are coming with it. Prior to today only ten games were known. Today, another ten games join those original ten and we're going to tell you what all of those are. ...

Yakuza Kiwami 2 PC Trailer and Release Date

Sega is doing this weird thing where they are quietly releasing news and information about upcoming game releases without much fanfare. The latest seems to be the news that yes, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is coming to the PC, and yes, it has a new trailer. Not only that, but the trailer revealed a May 9 release date for the game.

Besides that, there isn't really much else to say. The PlayStation 4 release of the game was fantastic, with our review calling it the "best Yakuza game to date." I'm sure the improvements made to the PC release will make the gameplay that much more...

    Judgment Announcement Trailer

Judgment has a new trailer available today. Sony put this new "announcement" trailer up on their YouTube page just a short time ago. We don't have any additional information to share with you about said trailer or the game, but that's just fine.

If you need more details about Judgment, you can always read through the release date announcement. By the way, Judgment is still apparently on track to be released in the Americas on June 25, despite it being pulled from stores in Japan. You can also check out another piece that talks about how the game will ship with two...

Judgment to Ship with Two Sets of English Subtitles

Building off of yesterday's news of a June 25th release date for Judgment in the West, comes word today that the game will ship with two different English subtitles to choose from. This was revealed as part of today's new media release for Judgment on the PlayStation Blog.

The Yakuza localization team already does an absolutely tremendous job, but it looks like they're trying to up the ante with Judgment. The idea to have two separate English subtitles ties in to the fact that Judgment will have English audio in addition to the original Japanese audio. Those who played the...

Judgment to Release in Americas and Europe on June 25

Late last night, Sega announced that Judgment will be released in the Americas and throughout Europe on June 25. This reveal came last night via Twitter along with a few additional details about a pre-order bonus.

Fans of the Yakuza games will want to keep an eye on this one. Why's that? Because it's set in the same world as the Yakuza franchise, made by the same developers, and contains some of the same gameplay elements. However, this is not a Yakuza game, it's merely a spin-off.

You play as detective Takayuki Yagami who is investigating a serial murder case...

Yakuza Kiwami Launches on PC via Steam February 19

The Steam page for Yakuza Kiwami went up a long while back and the wait, at least for some users, has been a bit unbearable. Thankfully, development of the PC release has seemingly wrapped up because a release date was finally revealed and it is February 19, 2019.

For $19.99, you too can experience the ending of the beginning of the franchise, since Kiwami picks up after the events that began the beginning in Yakuza 0, which came out on PC a few months ago.

We have reviews up here at Total Gaming Network for both Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami. Sure, these reviews...

    Catherine Coming to PC

Though an official announcement has not yet been made, it seems all to clear that Catherine is headed to the PC.

First off, there is the fact that the ESRB has updated its rating for Catherine, having just added PC to the release list. Secondly, there are all of these sheep starting to appear on Steam. Fans have spotted images of sheep on the Steam pages for Bayonetta and Valkyria Chronicles 4.

Sega seems to be enjoying themselves with these teases. The original Catherine was developed by Atlus. It is a rather unique puzzle-platforming game that originally came...

ToeJam & Earl are Back in the Groove Come March 2019

ToeJam and Earl is as much a perfect pairing as peanut butter and jelly. Their original outing, ToeJam & Earl, came about on the Sega Genesis in 1991. They were then later ported to the Xbox, Wii, and even the PC. They haven't really had much in the way of fame and fortune for quite some time but they're ready to make their big comeback in March 2019 with ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove. The game is being developed by HumaNature Studios. The studio already has a history with ToeJam & Earl since it is run by the original game's creator Greg Johnson. New Gameplay Trailer for Project Judge - The New IP from the Yakuza Devs

We finally got our first look at Project Judge (aka: Judge Eyes), the newest IP from the development studio that brought us the Yakuza franchise. This new look features some quick snippets of the various gameplay elements in this game where you play as a detective.

If the setting looks familiar to you, it should. It's been confirmed that the game takes place on the mean streets of Kamurocho, one of the staple cities of the Yakuza franchise. Only this time, you're fighting on the side of the law instead of just kind of helping out the law in a less than legal fashion.

It looks a bit like Phoenix Wright meets Yakuza and that...

    Review: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PS4)

The best Yakuza game to date.
Since January of 2017, I've had the good fortune to be able to review every Yakuza release that has come out on the PlayStation 4. It started with Yakuza 0, followed by Yakuza Kiwami, and then Yakuza 6 just a few months back. I have seen the beginning and the emotional end to this franchise. I have played it across two different game engines. Every entry has offered up something new and unique to experience while still maintaining a certain alluring appeal that kept me hooked through dozens upon dozens of gameplay hours.

Fast-forward slightly and we arrive here at the present day with the Western release of Yakuza Kiwami 2, a remake of the 2006 PlayStation 2 game, Yakuza 2. It runs on the all-new Dragon Engine that we first saw with Yakuza 6. It also adds on a heaping helping of additional story content on top of the original title. It also somehow manages...
