No, the remake won't suddenly become Assassin's Creed in space.
Eric Baptizat was the game director for Assassin's Creed Valhalla at Ubisoft. He left the company after being there for 16 years to join EA Motive and is now the lead on the upcoming Dead Space remake.
This news was first shared by Baptizat via LinkedIn. This reveal also confirms a report made in June that he had parted ways from Ubisoft to join EA motive on a then unannounced project. Baptizat apparently...

Battlefield 2042 Short Film 'Exodus' to Premiere on August 12
A new short film is coming soon.
DICE and EA were probably thinking: "How do we tell a story without having a single player story campaign?" The answer? Tell the story within the multiplayer component for Battlefield 2042. Oh, also let's make some short films based on the game that also provide some lore. A lot of games do this, including EA's own Apex Legends, so why wouldn't it also work for Battlefield?
Anyway, there is a new short film coming on August 12... -

Modders Pull Grand Theft Auto Mod 14-years in the Making Over Takedown Fears
Say goodbye to GTA United.
Take-Two has been on a rampage lately with takedown notices for multiple Grand Theft Auto mods. The company has issued takedowns on mods that have existed for over a decade for games like Grand Theft Auto 3, Vice City, and San Andreas. The company really hasn't said why they've suddenly taken issue with these mods after so long.
Out of a fear of receiving a takedown notice on their own mod, the creators of the 14-year-old San Andreas mod, GTA... -

Activision Blizzard Hires Known Union-Busting Firm
Game developers need to unionize.
Earlier this week, Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick sent out an internal email that said the company would be reviewing policies and procedures in order to help promote a more inclusive workplace. This came after the company was sued by the state of California following a two-year long investigation into multiple cases of sexual harassment and discrimination. However, this email from Kotick came just prior to details being shared publicly about... -

A Look Inside Blizzard Developers' Disgusting 'Cosby Suite'
It's real and it's perhaps worse than you could have ever imagined.

Included in the legal filing by the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing was a mention of the "Cosby Suite."
Today, while Blizzard employees were staging a walkout in support... -
