As previous leaks and rumors suggested, we did indeed see a new Dead Space revealed today at the very end of EA Play Live. EA Motive is leading the development on this complete remake of the original Dead Space. It's being built from the ground up using the Frostbite engine and is coming only to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The original Dead Space was first released 12 years ago.

Phillippe Ducharme is the senior producer on Dead Space. They say that they want this remake to serve "as a love letter to the franchise." They continue on to say that they will "modernize the game" while also utilizing feedback from fans to "deliver the Dead Space game they want and for new players to enjoy as well."

There is no release date for this Dead Space remake just yet. It's probably very early in development still.

In Dead Space, Isaac Clarke is an everyman engineer on a mission to repair a vast, sprawling starship, the USG Ishimura, only to discover something has gone horribly wrong. The ship's crew has been slaughtered and infected by some alien scourge...and Isaac’s beloved partner, Nicole, is lost somewhere on board.

Now Isaac is alone with only his tools and engineering skills as he attempts to uncover the nightmarish mystery of what happened aboard the Ishimura. Trapped with hostile creatures called “necromorphs”, Isaac faces a battle for survival, not only against the escalating terrors of the ship, but his own crumbling sanity.
