No, the remake won't suddenly become Assassin's Creed in space.
Eric Baptizat was the game director for Assassin's Creed Valhalla at Ubisoft. He left the company after being there for 16 years to join EA Motive and is now the lead on the upcoming Dead Space remake.
This news was first shared by Baptizat via LinkedIn. This reveal also confirms a report made in June that he had parted ways from Ubisoft to join EA motive on a then unannounced project. Baptizat apparently joined EA Motive in April of 2021. This will probably give you a good idea of just how far along development on the Dead Space remake really is.
In addition to leading development on Valhalla, Baptizat also served as the lead game designer on Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Unity, Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag, Shaun White Skateboarding, Surf's Up, and James Cameron's AVATAR.
We do not have any sort of a release window for the Dead Space remake. We only know that it is being developed for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. I wouldn't expect to see this game released until at least 2023.
