Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

Dragon Age Director Mike Laidlaw Leaves BioWare

Mike Laidlaw, the Creative Director for the Dragon Age series, announced today that he is leaving BioWare. Laidlaw has spent 14 years with the company, offering his talents to games and franchises that include Jade Empire and, of course, Dragon Age.

As for the next Dragon Age game? Well, things aren't looking too great. The last official word was that the game was in some very early stages of development. With Laidlaw parting ways, the future of the franchise comes into question. It also doesn't help matters that a number of Dragon Age related job postings have disappeared from the BioWare website. We certainl...

  • ESRB Doesn't See Loot Boxes as a Form of Gambling

ESRB Doesn't See Loot Boxes as a Form of Gambling

Loot boxes. We all know them, we all have a love-hate relationship with them. They're those things where you can spend currency to purchase boxes that contain "random" loot drops that range from cosmetics to gameplay altering gear. More often than not, these loot boxes can be purchased using real world currency. A lot of people feel as though this is a form of gambling.

While it seems obvious that loot boxes are indeed a form of gambling, the ESRB doesn't seem to agree. Kotaku was the first outlet to get a response back from the ESRB about what they think about loot boxes and their relationship to gambling.

  • Turtle Rock Studios Releases Fantasy RPG Only for Gear VR

Turtle Rock Studios Releases Fantasy RPG Only for Gear VR

Turtle Rock Studios, the development studio behind games like Left 4 Dead and Evolve, have just released their new turn-based fantasy RPG, The Well. The big twist here is that it's a VR title. The even bigger twist is that it's a VR title made exclusively for the Samsung Gear VR.

"That's funny, Zips!" I hear you, but I'm not joking. I never joke. I don't know how to.
This original, turn-based, fantasy role-playing game is available to download today for $9.99 via the Oculus store. It is also playable for attendees of Oculus Connect 4. The Well is unlike anything Turtle Rock Studios has created before: a classically designed RPG crafted especially for VR with

  • PUBG Surpasses 2 Million Concurrent Players

PUBG Surpasses 2 Million Concurrent Players

Yo, Fortnite, it's good and all that you hit 10 million non-current players on a F2P game that is out on four separate platforms, but PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has hit 2 million concurrent players on just one platform (PC).

Brandon "PlayerUnknown" Greene shared the exciting news earlier today via Twitter. From the looks of things, the peak today for PUBG was 2,016,498 players. The game with the second highest peak today was Dota 2 at just 622,839 players. What makes this especially significant is that this peak for PUBG happened during a weekday and nowhere near the typical peak of concurrent ...

Fortnite Battle Royale Surpasses 10 Million Players

Spawned as an offshoot of Fortnite and launched on September 26, 2017, Fortnite Battle Royale has already surpassed 10 million players. This free-to-play battle royale style game seems to have been a pretty safe bet for the team at Epic Games.

Considering that just about a week ago we were talking about how Fortnite had hit 7 million players literally last week, that's not too shabby.
Available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac, Fortnite Battle Royale drops 100 players onto one giant map where their combat and building skills are put to the test and the last commander standing wins.
    And now, it's time f...

New Dust 2 Now Available in CS:GO Beta - Get Your First Look Here

Here is your first good look at the changes that have been made to Dust 2 for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. I'm sure this is probably the first of many, many, many, many, many, many, many times you will see the updated Dust 2. See, because the joke is Dust 2 is played a lot.

Valve put up a rather lovely guide that both shows and explains the changes they made to several key areas of Dust 2. For example, here is just a bit on the overall art improvement that they made.
