December 8th is when you and other Halo fans will be able to begin playing Halo Infinite. The release date was confirmed today during Gamescom Opening Night Live.

Also revealed today was a new story trailer for Halo Infinite's first free-to-play multiplayer season. We were given a new look at Commander Laurette Agryna and what seems like her origin story with the Spartans. Commander Agryna will serve as the person in charge of training new Spartan recruits at the Academy. This will serve as the hub for the game's multiplayer and will also integrate into the main story in some capacity.

Sadly, today's new showcase did not magically bump up the time for campaign co-op or Forge mode. Those will still be coming after the game launches this December.

343 Industries did show off a new Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 and Xbox Series X console that were designed for Halo's 20th anniversary. They will be made available starting November 15.
