It looks like we may get an announcement of a Saints Row reboot next week at Gamescom 2021. The tease about the announcement came from Geoff Keighley, host of Gamescom Opening Night Live (and a bunch of other stuff throughout the year).

Keighley's tweet says that they are "'Bossing' it with our announcements this year." Included in the tweet is a link to SaintsRow.com. On the site an image is shown that simply says "Rebooting." I don't think you can get much more obvious than this that a Saints Row reboot is happening.

In 2019 THQ Nordic confirmed that a full Saints Row title was deep in development. An announcement was apparently planned to take place in 2020 but it was obviously postponed for whatever reason, probably COVID-19 related.

I guess they're not doing the time travel ending to restore Earth after all?

I mean, they could still do that. It happens at the start of the game. It'd keep with their tongue in cheek approach to the series so far and still allow them to make it a reboot.

New Saints Row is Apparently a Broken Mess
    by Shawn Zipay
The reviews are in and critics agree: Yikes!

If you were debating on picking up the new Saints Row game when it comes out on August 23, 2022 you should probably not get it. Just don't buy it. In fact, I'd probably wait maybe a year or so before picking it up. Not only will the game more than likely be out on Steam at that point for you PC users, but it will probably also be a lot less buggy. It will probably also be available for a big discount.

The newest entry in a franchise...

    by Shawn Zipay
There's always a catch with these things.

As expected, a new Saints Row game was announced today during Gamescom Opening Night Live. Let's just address the elephant in the room: Saints Row is exclusive to the Epic Games Store on PC. It may come to other stores in the future, but there's literally no confirmation yet about that. Saints Row will also be released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

The release date is set for February 25,...
