Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games announced today that Star Wars Outlaws will be released on August 30, 2024. Technically, it will actually be out on August 27th, because those that buy the Gold or Ultimate editions will get three days of early access to the game. Whichever day you opt to start playing on, you will only be able to do so on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, and PC only through Ubisoft Connect (even Epic Games Store is not mentioned).
As part of today's launch date reveal, Ubisoft did share additional details about the game's story, along with protagonists Kay Vess and her companion Nix. We already know that Star Wars Outlaws takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
During this era, the Empire’s rule is distracted by the rebellion that won’t quit, leading to a golden age for the underworld. As a skilled thief, Kay’s antics catch the attention of Sliro, the leader of a new, foreboding criminal syndicate Zerek Besh. After Sliro places a bounty on Kay’s head, Kay and Nix are offered their one shot at freedom - pull off one of the greatest heists of all time. Kay and Nix will need to navigate the underworld across the galaxy, building their reputation with legendary criminal organizations including the Pyke Syndicate, the Hutt Cartel, the Ashiga Clan and Crimson Dawn to earn the support they need to finish the job.
Ubisoft mentions that the base "Standard Edition" will retail for $69.99. Looking at the pre-order website for the game, it's easy to see that the Gold Edition is $109.99 and the Ultimate Edition carries a whopping $129.99 price tag. Alternatively, you can spend $17.99 for a month of Ubisoft+ to play through the game.
Star Wars Outlaws will be available through the Ubisoft Store and at retail at a suggested price of $69.99 for the base game. By subscribing to Ubisoft+ or purchasing the Gold or Ultimate Edition, players can also access the game up to three days earlier.*
