During their Gamescom event today, Microsoft announced that the original map from the first State of Decay game is coming to State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition. This map, Trumbull Valley, has been fully remastered as a fully open world map, and will be included in the game's "Homecoming" update set to drop on September 1.

Microsoft says that the new version of the map will allow players to learn about the latest developments in the area, discover new characters, new storylines, and resolve some dangling plot threads. There will also be six new bases to occupy, unique weapons, and outfits unique to the area. Yes, there will also be new missions and achievements to earn in this content as well.

Team Xbox has also announced that State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition has surpassed 10 million players since its launch. This figure undoubtedly aided by the release on Steam in early 2020 along with the fact that the game is available through Xbox Game Pass.

Developer Undead Labs did announce State of Decay 3 about a year ago. As far as we know that game is still coming at some point and is still in development.
