Valve Announces Counter-Strike 2

Valve's massively popular FPS gets an engine upgrade and a test starting today.

Valve officially announced Counter-Strike 2 today after weeks of teases, speculation, and rumors. The developer calls this "the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and I'm inclined to believe it.

Counter-Strike 2 will launch to everyone starting in Summer of 2023. Counter-Strike 2 will be a free upgrade to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Some Counter-Strike:...

Sony's Jim Ryan Reportedly Said His Goal is to 'Block Your Merger' in Closed Door Meeting with Activision

The CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment reportedly had some choice words during a meeting with Activision.

It has been a ridiculous day for Sony when it comes to new details that have come out about the company's opposition to the Microsoft and Activision Blizzard merger.

First, a new report from The Verge's Tom Warren shared some key pieces of information from documents (PDF download) that were recently submitted to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA)....

Review: The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition

An easy purchase for new players but maybe a hard sell for existing owners.

It was not until I reinstalled the original PC release of The Outer Worlds that I was able to really appreciate the improvements made with the release of The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition. Initially, I believed that this looked exactly like the same game that I had played on PC back in late 2019 when it first came out.

"I'm just not seeing what makes this Spacer's Choice Edition worth...

So, a fan remake on a new engine for a game released on an old engine is getting demade back on the old engine?

You ever see a news story that just makes you scratch your head? This is one of them.

It took almost 15 years from a mod team to create and fully release Black Mesa, a Source engine remake of Valve's original Half-Life. A bit more than a simple remake, Black Mesa took a few liberties with some aspects of their creation, opting to expand the game a bit beyond...

SGDQ Speedrunner Admits to Faking Metal Gear Rising World Record Run

It was all smoke and mirrors... and pre-recorded.

Summer Games Done Quick 2022 has come and gone. This year's event pulled in over $3 million (USD) for charity and was full of ridiculous runs, various incentives, and a few cases of "that's never happened before." One run in particular, the one for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, seemed to pull in a lot of hype.

Metal Gear Rising also happened to be one of the games that had an incentive. If enough money was donated,...

Monthly Poll

  • Poll: What Platform Do you Game on the Most?
    by Shawn Zipay
Do you prefer consoles? PC? Maybe mobile is your preferred platform?

This month's poll is a bit generic if only because I really don't know what to ask right now and this is the easiest thing that came to mind. The question is simple: Which sort of platform do you prefer to play games on?

Do you like playing on consoles? Do you prefer to play games on PC? What about mobile games? Maybe you prefer to spend most of your time on your phone playing this, that, or the other....
Consoles (Ex: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, etc.)
    PC (Including Steam Deck)
Mobile (Ex: iOS or Android phones/tablets)
Standalone VR (Ex: Meta Quest 2)
Other (Ex: No preference or maybe you play only at arcades or those handheld Tiger Electronic games)
