Discord Distances Itself from Gaming

Discord is now your place to talk.

Discord was built upon the idea of bringing gamers of all types together. It's certainly a big factor that prompted my friends and I to make the move to Discord from TeamSpeak and Ventrilo however long ago it's been now. We were a group of friends that played a lot of games together. We didn't like the quality of the service we were paying monthly for from the alternatives and decided to give Discord a try. We never looked back.

That...

A number of outlets have shared their first-hand experiences with a vertical slice of the game based on being able to play it for the past week or two now. Lucky SOBs, I'll tell you what. This all came together today in the release of those impressions to the web alongside a brand new official trailer from CD Projekt Red themselves....

Mixer is Shutting Down

Microsoft is pulling the plug on their streaming platform.

On July 22, Microsoft will officially close down their streaming service, Mixer, for good. The plan is to instead move all of its existing partners over to Facebook Gaming. This rather sudden announcement means that Mixer partners and streamers will be moving to Facebook Gaming beginning today.

According to The Verge, Microsoft "has struggled to reach the scale needed to Mixer to compete with Twitch, YouTube,...

Review: Disintegration

A terribly underwhelming take on the sci-fi FPS genre.

Disintegration, the debut title from V1 Interactive, places players in the shoes of Romer Shoal. Shoal was a former celebrity robot turned outlaw that leads a group of other current outlaws to take down the evil Rayonne. This is done through a lot of vehicle focused combat and some great character designs, but a terrible story with some surprisingly shallow gameplay. Though the game aims to become a real genre defining moment for...

Review: Maneater

A fun, albeit shallow, gameplay experience.

Maneater is one of those titles that is just the right amount of dumb fun. It pushes the dumb just far enough that you are not overly concerned with its obvious shortcomings. I suppose that any game that places you in the fins of a growing, angry as hell bull shark that can mutate and grow. These mutations provide your shark with gain special abilities is not a game that would ever take itself too seriously.

Maneater is a game...

A new Friend Pass system was just added to the co-op horror game.

Bandai Namco just announced today that Man of Medan now has a Friend's Pass system available on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This means that all you need in order to play the game with a friend is a friend. That friend should probably also have an Internet connection and also play on the same platform that you do.

Halo Stickers and Music Added to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

I think Halo is a pretty cool guy.

Today saw the release of some new cross-promotion content between 343 Industries and Valve. This new cross-promotion content adds in a Halo Sticker Capsule (pictured here) as an in-game purchasable item...

Beat Saber Studio Acquired by Oculus

The devs behind one of the most popular VR titles is now with Oculus.

When you think of popular VR titles, Beat Saber is probably one of the few titles that constantly comes to mind. Whether you have VR on the PC, Oculus devices, HTC devices, the Index, or PlayStation VR, Beat Saber is just one of those "must try" titles that you kind of suggest everyone tries.

The success of Beat Saber has not gone unnoticed by Oculus Studios. Today, they announced that they...

Valve Pulled Almost 1000 Games from Steam Last Night

    Entire publisher catalogs have disappeared.

Last night, Valve pulled almost 1,000 games from Steam. Entire publisher catalogs were wiped out, leaving many to wonder just what happened.

It seems as though nearly all of the games in question were almost all tied to a single Russian publisher, Dagestan Technology. This publisher appeared to operate under a large number of different names. The list of banned games, found here across nearly four pages, are probably games you've...

  • Why Is Passing Microsoft 70-742 Exam Through Practice Tests Important for Gaining Expert Skills?

Windows Server 2016 is one of the latest WS systems to be introduced by Microsoft. Being skilled in any of its functions will imply that you have up-to-date skills that will be useful in running the required functions. Gaining any expert skills in the IT field can be challenging. Sometimes it may seem like it is an impossible venture altogether. The good news is that with the Microsoft 70-742 exam, you no longer need to struggle in making your dream come true. The Identity with Windows Server...

PSA: The Steam Autumn Sale is Live

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

Valve just kicked off their latest mega-sale a mere hour ago now. That's right, the Steam Autumn Sale is now live. This year's sale runs from now (obviously) through December 3 at 10AM (PT).

During the sale, there will be over 13,000 titles available at reduced cost. This includes games, DLC, and probably even bundles that include things like bonus soundtracks. Don't just take my word for it. You can head on over to the main Steam...

  • Battleborn Servers to Shut Down in January 2021

Battleborn Servers to Shut Down in January 2021

I bet you thought this game shut down years ago.

The good news is that Battleborn isn't dead. Who knew, right? The bad news is that it will be once January 2021 rolls around. 2K announced via Twitter that they will be deactivating the servers for Battleborn in a little over a year from now.

They also pulled the game from every digital storefront they could. I'm sure the millions of you that were still on the fence about picking it up for a year full of fun and merriment...
