Progress will carry over to the full game.

Square Enix released a demo for Final Fantasy 16, their upcoming action-RPG. This demo, playable right now on PlayStation 5, will let you play through some rather meaty chunks of the game. There is the opening prologue sequence and a separate action focused mission.

The prologue segment is heavy on the story, which is probably to be expected. It's a couple of hours in length and will let you carry over your progress to the full game when it's out later this month on PlayStation 5.

The second part of the demo is another couple of hours long and features an action packed infiltration of a fort. Progress made in this section will not carry over to the final game.

Final Fantasy 16 is out on June 22 and only (for now) on PS5. You can download the demo now from the PlayStation Store.
