The FTC invites players to get their money back.
Fortnite players are now able to submit for a refund due to unwanted in-game purchases that were made between January 2017 and September 2022. This is all due to the $245 million settlement between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Epic Games.
That settlement itself was part of a larger settlement from December 2022 between the FTC and Epic Games. It was that $520 million December 2022 settlement that found Epic Games...

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Goes Gold
It's still on track for its October release.
"Going gold" announcements are kind of a nebulous thing in these digital days, but sometimes it's still nice to hear that a game is on track and ready for release. As such, Insomniac Games announced today that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has gone gold.
This means that the game is finished and ready to be released. This doesn't rule out a day one patch or anything of course.
Today's announcement was accompanied... -

Evil Dead: The Game is Dead
The Switch version has also obviously been canceled.
Saber Interactive announced that Evil Dead: The Game is officially dead. The game will not receive any additional content and the planned Nintendo Switch version has also been canceled. Servers for the existing PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions will remain active "for the foreseeable future."
Exact reasoning for this decision was not shared by Saber in their brief announcement on Twitter. It could be that... -

Xbox's Phil Spencer Addresses Recent Leaks
Oh, you thought we were done with this? Ha.
Microsoft had a major spotlight shown on them today after several court documents made their way online via a little whoopsie by Microsoft themselves. We had the mid-gen Series X|S refresh info, Bethesda's release schedule, next-gen Xbox, and even word that Phil Spencer wanted to buy Nintendo and other studios.
There were even some leaks we didn't share with you today. Leaks like how Microsoft was (or is) planning a mouse and... -

Xbox's Phil Spencer Really Wanted to Buy Nintendo, Valve, WB Games
Spencer says Nintendo's future "exists off of their own hardware."
More information has come from the leaked documents in the court battle between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Microsoft over the proposed purchase of Activision Blizzard. First was the mid-gen refresh for Series X|S, then came the leaked schedule for Bethesda's games, then we learned about the next-gen Xbox hardware. Now, we learn that head of Xbox Phil Spencer really, really wanted to purchase Nintendo.... -

Due to be released in 2028.
The Microsoft leaks just keep on coming. First was word about the mid-gen refresh for Xbox Series X|S. Then came the leaked release schedule for Bethesda and ZeniMax titles. Now, it's time to read about the next-gen Xbox console that Microsoft is planning for a 2028 release.
As before, this information comes from documents released as part of the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) legal battle against Microsoft over the purchase of Activision... -

Bethesda's Leaked Release Schedule Mentions New Doom, Dishonored 3, Oblivion Remaster, and More
Plus a Fallout 3 remaster, Ghostwire: Tokyo sequel, and new unnamed projects.
The mid-gen hardware refreshes for Xbox Series X and Series S weren't the only things leaked when Microsoft mistakenly put some of their own court documents online. The documents, published online accidentally as part of the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) vs Microsoft over the planned purchase of Activision Blizzard, includes a timeline of planned Bethesda game releases.
This document seems to... -

Mid-Gen Xbox Series Refreshes Coming in 2024 Say Court Documents
This includes a digital-only Xbox Series X refresh.
If you were asleep last night or playing a game, as I was, you may have missed it when a waterfall of leaked court documents made their way online. Those court documents are from the ongoing court battle between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Microsoft about the latter's bid to acquire Activision Blizzard. There has been a lot leaked from these documents, so expect to read more as the day goes on.

Poll: Are You a Fan of Paying More to Play Early?
3I don't mind. If people want to spend more to play early, let them!33.33%1I'm indifferent to the whole idea.33.33%1I think it's kind of dumb that people get to play earlier. Spending more shouldn't offer a "head start" on other paying customers.33.33%1Other (describe below)0%0The poll is expired.
Get that Premium Edition and play three days early!
Looks like the latest growing trend with game releases is to offer a more expensive Premium or Gold or whatever edition that grants you access to a game a few days ahead of its official release.
Starfield did it with their $99.99 (USD) Premium Edition. Today, Payday 3 is doing an "Early Access" release with their Silver and Gold editions. Diablo 4 did the same thing earlier in the year, as did Madden NFL 24,... -

Payday 3 Early Access Begins
If you paid more, you can play right now.
Those who bought the Silver or Gold editions of Payday 3 are able to start playing right now, a whole three days ahead of its "official" release on September 21. This Early Access release of Payday 3 does grant full access to the game ahead of the 21st. Meaning that if you and three buddies all bought the more expensive versions of the game, you could be heisting right this second.

The Elder Scrolls 6 Coming 2026 at Earliest but Not to PlayStation
The reveal comes from Microsoft themselves.
The Elder Scrolls 6 won't be coming any time soon, according to Microsoft's own documents. Not only the next Elder Scrolls title still several years away, it looks like it won't be headed to the PlayStation 5 (or whatever PlayStation is out at the time of release).
These new details come from Microsoft's own documents that were filed as part of the legal battle between the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and Microsoft concerning... -

Also Valve, Epic, Apple, and any other platform that distributes Unity games.

This information comes from an updated FAQ that Unity shared on their website. The FAQ says that the Unity runtime fee...
