It's still on track for its October release.
"Going gold" announcements are kind of a nebulous thing in these digital days, but sometimes it's still nice to hear that a game is on track and ready for release. As such, Insomniac Games announced today that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 has gone gold.
This means that the game is finished and ready to be released. This doesn't rule out a day one patch or anything of course.
Today's announcement was accompanied by a little video of voice actors Nadji Jeter (Miles Morales), Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker), Laura Bailey (Mary Jane Watson), and tony Todd (Venom) being super excited about the news.
Today's gold announcement comes about a week after a new gameplay trailer was released by Sony and Insomniac Games. We've included that new gameplay trailer below where you can get a look at some of the new suits that are inspired by various Spider-Man related movies, comics, and original designs. We also get a look at the expanded gameplay area of New York City and a look at the gameplay in general.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is out on October 20, 2023 for PlayStation 5.
