Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

Just watch it.

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

How to Stay Safe When Playing Online Games

No matter who you are or how old you may be, you run the very real risk of exposing yourself online. No, I do not mean it that way, so get your minds out of the gutters.

No, we are instead referring to the fact that whenever you are connected to the Internet, be it browsing a website or playing your favorite online game like Fortnite or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, you are exposed to a huge number of nefarious actors that could potentially spy on you. People you do not know or even want to know could find out information about your browsing habits. They can see the sites...

A new report from Wired provides us some of the first confirmed details for the next-generation PlayStation console. Though it's not confirmed to be called "PlayStation 5" we'll do so for the time being until we know otherwise.

The online magazine sat down with Sony's Mark "Knack's Baby Daddy" Cerny to talk about the upcoming Sony hardware. Though a lot of specifics were omitted, we did learn a bunch of tasty new details.

We know that the system will include backwards compatibility with PlayStation 4 games. The system will not ship in 2019....

Vulkan Support Added to No Man's Sky, Promises Better Performance

If there is one thing that is critical to a game having VR support, it's making sure that the base game can run well on capable hardware. A VR experience with poor performance and framerates isn't a VR experience that you want to have. Fallout 4 VR, I'm looking at you.

It's perhaps a good thing then that Hello Games just launched a new experimental branch update for No Man's Sky that adds Vulkan support to the game. The performance gains should be felt by most players, especially those on AMD video cards. More performance in the game is great because No Man's Sky is set to...

  • Xbox One SAD Edition Announced

    Xbox One SAD Edition Announced

Microsoft officially announced a new Xbox One SKU today. It's called the 1TB Xbox One S All-Digital Edition, or the Xbox One SAD Edition if you're feeling cheeky. As you may have already gathered from the name, there is no optical drive included on this Xbox One.

It's just like a normal Xbox One S except you can't play any disc-based games. You can only download games or stream them. So just like the regular Xbox One S, you can still pre-order games, pre-load games, save games locally and to the cloud, and you still have access to your entire digital game library. It's literally...

Valve Being Sued by Native American Nation Over Skins Gambling

Native American Quinault Tribal Nation members have filed a lawsuit in the state of Washington against Valve over skins gambling. The group accuses Valve of participating in "unethical, oppressive, and unscrupulous business conduct."

The plaintiffs own and operate the Quinault Beach Resort and Casino. They argue that Valve has engaged in unfair competition with legally licensed gambling operations. Valve does not have a license to conduct gambling operations. The lawsuit argues that because Valve does not have a gambling license they are illegally facilitating gambling through the trade of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive skins ...

Live-Action Minecraft Movie Targeting 2022 Release

There is a live-action Minecraft movie in the works. Unfortunately for fans, the movie won't be released until at least 2022. Specifically, the planned date for release is March 4, 2022. That's roughly three years from the time of this post. We're going to have flying cars and hoverboards by then, and they expect us to still be playing Minecraft?

Well, if people still are playing Minecraft in three years, they'll have the following plot to look forward to. This is a small bit of the planned plot for the film that is being directed by Peter Sollett (Nick & Norah's Infinite...

  • Major Security Hole Patched in Origin Client

Major Security Hole Patched in Origin Client

On Monday, a client update for EA's Origin was released that patched up a rather significant security hole in the game client. According to a proof-of-concept investigated by TechCrunch, an attacker with knowledge of the security hole could have run any app they wanted to on the victim's computer.

This flaw was originally discovered by security researchers Daley Bee and Dominik Penner of Underdog Security. The two found that the flaw allowed them to run any app on a victim's computer at the same level of privileges as the logged-in user. The proof-of-concept that TechCrunch...

World War Z the Game Based on the Movie Based on the Book is Out Today

If you have a hunger for brains some co-op zombie shooting, you may be happy to hear that World War Z is out today. This four-player co-op title will probably invoke some feelings of deja vu as you take on a ton of undead swarms as you make your way through each level. What I'm trying to say is that fans of Left 4 Dead will probably want to check this one out.

The game is, of course, inspired by the movie of the same name, which is inspired by the book of the same name. World War Z retails for $39.99 (USD) on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. it is also available for the PC exclusively...
