Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

Sale includes free games every week and pre-order discounts.

The Epic Games Store just kicked off its own multi-week long sale today. This sale finds discounts of up to 75% off of some titles. It also includes discounts on pre-orders for games like John Wick Hex, Borderlands 3, or Control. Just to name a few.

The way this sale works is this: Some games that are already out are on sale for up to 75% off. Other games that don't have a percentage off will be at least $10 off if their regular price is $14.99 and higher. On top of this, there will be a free game given out...

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

New Final Fantasy VII Remake Teaser

Just watch it.

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

Sonic Movie Director Says They'll Make Sonic Look Less Weird

Jeff Fowler, the director on the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie says that they have heard the fan feedback.

Yesterday, the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released and uh, Sonic looked odd, to put it nicely. For God's sake, he had human teeth! Why?!

Naturally, the reaction online to Sonic's design ranged everywhere from laughter, to horror, to anger, to some suggestions on how to make him look better, and to an absolutely crapload of amazing meme images. Oh those glorious meme images. Also, I have no idea where the image at the top came from....

World War Z to Receive Post-Launch Content as Game Sales Surpass 1 Million

World War Z is the latest, and some may say greatest, co-op shooter that places you and three of your friends against massive hordes of the living dead.

World War Z has also apparently sold quite well, having sold over 1 million units in its first week of being on sale on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via the Epic Games Store (yep, it's an affiliate link). As such, you may expect that the game will be receiving some fresh content in the months ahead and you'd be correct.

New content is in the works and the first drop arrives this month (May). This first...

  • Close to the Sun Brings Some Electrifying Horror to PC Today

Close to the Sun Brings Some Electrifying Horror to PC Today

Publisher Wired Productions and Italian development studio, Storm in a Teacup, have released Close to the Sun on the Epic Games Store. It will be coming later this year for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Close to the Sun is a first-person horror adventure with plenty of art deco design, a massive ship, and Nikola Tesla. As mentioned, it's available right now only on the Epic Games Store for $29.99 (USD). And no, it's not like BioShock. They want to make that very, very clear. It's just that they both have a whole lot of that art deco thing going on.

Having played this one for review, I will say that the review will be coming very shortly for Close to the Sun. The review codes were sent out only earlier this week and I really don't like to rush through games I play, especially for review. ...

It also features an airport, but you won't be the one doing the flying. You'll just be picking up passengers, because that's what you do. You are a bus driver. This is your life now.

This map extension will be coming to Steam on May 22, 2019. It can be yours for $15.99 (USD). Bus Simulator 18 itself is going for $34.99 if that tickles your fancy.

  • Epic Buys Rocket League Studio

    Epic Buys Rocket League Studio

Psyonix, the studio behind one of 2015's biggest games, Rocket League, was just purchased by Epic Games. The acquisition is pretty much set in wet cement at this point, with the final crossing of the t's coming later this Spring.

Yes, this also means that Rocket League is leaving Steam and is now an Epic Games Store exclusive. Those are the long term plans. In the short term, nothing much will change at all. Psyonix gave a rundown of what they say will happen with the game in the coming months.

So, it will be on Steam still or...? Nope. According...

  • New Earthworm Jim Game Announced Exclusively for Intellivision Amico

New Earthworm Jim Game Announced Exclusively for Intellivision Amico

Where do I even begin with this one?

There once existed a game console called the Intellivision. It was released first in 1979 and ran through until about 1990. Its controller consisted of some side buttons, a disc-based d-pad, and a 12 digit keypad that accepted plastic overlays for every game so that you knew what the buttons did.

For whatever reason, Intellivision is coming back as Intellivision Amico. It's slated to be released in late 2020. It still features a similar controller design to its ancestor, but instead of a 12 digit keypad, it's a touchscreen....

  • Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Trailer Has Some Teeth

Sonic the Hedgehog Movie Trailer Has Some Teeth

Sonic the Hedgehog is a movie about a blue hedgehog with oddly long legs that has human teeth.

There is a live-action comedy coming out from Paramount that features Sonic the Hedgehog. Coincidentally, his name is also the name of the movie. This trailer shows us a few things:

First, it shows us that Sonic the Hedgehog has very human teeth. It's weird and kind of creepy.

Secondly, it shows us a Jim Carrey role that allows him to be goofy again. Getting to see Carrey act goofy in a movie again is a bit refreshing. Third, Sonic's eyes aren't...
