Band Together in Terror: The Outlast Trials Review

The Outlast Trials proves that survival horror can be more fun with friends.

The Outlast Trials is a four-player PvE game taking place in the Cold War era. The game's opening moments and lore paint a gruesome and wicked scene that will be familiar to series veterans but disquieting to those new to the Outlast universe. Players work their way through a series of experiments, each of which plays out on various large maps like a police station, a courthouse, a carnival, and more. The g...

TikTok Ban Signed Into Law by President Biden

Owner ByteDance has 270 days to sell off TikTok.

On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid package that also included a bill that could ban TikTok in the United States. This ban can only be averted if the China-based company that owns TikTok, ByteDance, sells off the popular social media app before the 270 day time limit is up.

This gives ByteDance until January 19, 2025 to sell TikTok. An additional 90 day extension could be offered by President Biden if...

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Watch Dogs: Legion Online Multiplayer Released

It's now available on consoles, but not on PC.

The catch here is that the online multiplayer is out for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Stadia. • Six Days in Fallujah Publisher Now Says the game is 'Inseparable from Politics'

    Make up your minds.

When the resurrection of Six Days in Fallujah was first announced, publisher Victura told Polygon that they weren't "trying to make a political commentary." Er, that's a really bold and stupid statement to make given how your game focuses on some of the most fucked up events of the Iraq War. Even ignoring the broader context, the game literally focuses on war. War is, by its very nature, political. There's no way around it.

    Cut to today when...

Introduced as part of the latest patch.

Treyarch just released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War. This patch, among the other changes, introduces a brand new hardcore playlist to the mix. It's a hardcore option for Moshpit, a playlist that cycles between some of the game's most popular modes and maps.

This new hardcore mode should be welcome to those that feel as though the TTK (time to kill) has gotten to be a bit too high in the Cold War multiplayer...

    Ranking the Resident Evil Games

For years, Resident Evil has dominated the survival horror genre. Heck, they are often credited with creating the genre in the first place. The first Resident Evil came out back in 1996 and once it did, the gaming industry was forever changed.

In the 25 years since, developer Capcom released a fair number of new entries to the franchise, including some spin-offs, and even a couple of remakes. Today, we will take a look at the best of the mainline franchise releases and determine which...

    Valve Ditches Artifact 2.0

    Makes the original game F2P.

Valve is giving up on the idea of Artifact 2.0. This was their attempt to perform drastic overhauls to Artifact after the game was deemed a failure by fans and developers alike. It was a reboot, of sorts. Valve says that they have "accomplished most of (their) game-side goals, (but they) haven't managed to get the active player numbers to a level that justifies further development at this time."

So, development on the Artifact 2.0...

  • Nacon Issues Statement Defending Decision to Put 'Pirated' Copy of The Sinking City on Steam

    The battle continues.

This week, developer on The Sinking City, Frogwares, claims that the game's publisher, Nacon, illegally hacked a copy of their game and uploaded it to Steam. Shortly thereafter, Frogwares issued a DMCA takedown notice against its own game to get it removed from Steam. This was just the latest move in the ongoing battle between developer and publisher that began back in April of 2020.

In response to the DMCA takedown notice and claims against them...

On March 18, Marvel's Avengers will be updated in a number of ways. That is the date in which Hawkeye will be added to the roster. It will also be the date in which the game is given some next-gen improvements. That's the good news. The bad news here is that March 18 is also the date in which the team at Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix will revise the amount of experience needed in order to level up.

In short, you will now need more...
