Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Sony just laid off about 900 people across multiple PlayStation studios around the world. These 900 or so laid off employees account for roughly 8% of the total workforce for Sony Interactive Entertainment.

President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment, Jim Ryan, announced the layoffs to the public today. The public statement came after an email was sent to all employees informing them of the layoffs. From Ryan's...

Xbox Confirms PlayStation 5 Releases, Diablo 4 on Game Pass, and Future Hardware Plans

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

The heads of Xbox stayed true to their word and were indeed a part of a special edition of the Official Xbox Podcast. During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? Gears of War? Halo?! No, no, no, and no. Though Spencer did not specify what those four titles ...

Alex Wesker and Old Man Spencer Return in Resident Evil Resistance

Details on new maps and playable characters.

New details were revealed today for Resident Evil Resistance, the upcoming asymmetrical 4v1 co-op game from Capcom. The last we heard about the game was that it would be bundled with the upcoming Resident Evil 3 remake as a "free" bonus. We still don't know if Capcom had always intended to bundle Resistance with Resident Evil 3 or if the decision was made from a lack of faith in it being able to sell well on its own. Whatever the...

  • Conan Chop Chop Delayed

    Conan Chop Chop Delayed

The very real hack-and-slash has been pushed back slightly.

Conan Chop Chop initially began life as an apparent April Fools joke back in 2019. Nope, it was very much a real video game that was really in development from Mighty Kingdom and set to be published by Funcom. It has a cute art style, some tried and true hack-and-slash style gameplay, and co-op support for up to four players. We talked a bit about it when Funcom dished the first details back in June of 2019, if you recall....

Square Enix Delays Outriders as New Platforms Added

    Good news, bad news time.

Square Enix revealed that Outriders will be pushed back until a Holiday 2020 release window. However, alongside this unfortunate delay news comes word that the People Can Fly developed title is also working on PlayStation 5 and Xbox releases. Yes, that would be an Xbox Series X (Xbox SeX) announcement there, not an Xbox One, and not an OG Xbox. I'm already sick of this console's name.

But it's also coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One...

Valve Reintroduces Steam Soundtracks with a New Sale and Features

NOW that's what I call music!

Valve is bringing back Steam Soundtracks in a big way today. More accurately: Valve already brought back Steam Soundtracks a little while ago is being improved big time today. The Soundtrack section that some of you knew and perhaps even love already made its return as a dedicated category in the Steam Library. To further push this Soundtrack section, Valve is bolstering it today with some improved functionality.

On top of that, there is a...

Counter-Strike Broke Peak Player Records Twice this Weekend

CS:GO surges as DOTA 2 flounders.

This past weekend was a real banner couple of days for Counter-Strike players and fans. Not only did Counter-Strike: Global Offensive surpass its all-time concurrent player count, but it did so twice!

On Saturday, CS:GO had surpassed 888,000 people playing the game at once. This all-time high bested a near 7-year long record. The old all-time high came on August 21, 2012 when CS:GO had topped out at over 854,000 players.

    That's...

New Gameplay Video Released for TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2

    It's a motorcycle racing game.

You may not know it from that title, but TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2 is a motorcycle racing game. I am sure you could probably think of a few different, more explicit, genres that the title would work well with. I'm here to tell you that you should get your mind out of the gutter because this one is a motorcycle game.

A new gameplay video is out today for TT Isle of Man - Ride on the Edge 2. The game promises to be "more immersive...

DreadOut 2 Slated for February 20 Release

More scares based off of Indonesian horror tales arrives soon

The original DreadOut was a real "love it" or "hate it" sort of horror title. The game, released only on PC for Windows, Mac, and Linux, came across as a modern spin on the Fatal Frame formula. In the original, players were tasked with solving a variety of puzzles while protecting themselves from ghostly entities by photographing them with either a smartphone or a digital camera that they find through...

Anthem is Finally Getting a Massive Overhaul

BioWare officially announces their plans to make major changes.

Anthem as it currently exists is hanging on by the most tenuous of threads. Despite apparently being one of 2019's top selling titles, at least according to data shared by The NPD Group, the player base is next to non-existent. It would take a significant amount of work to get players interested in the game once again, which is apparently what BioWare has been working on behind the scenes for a little while now.

Hot New Key Art for Final Fantasy VII Remake

    It's pretty.

Square Enix publicly released a new piece of artwork today for none other than Final Fantasy VII Remake. The only place it was made available was on Twitter, so we'll all have to deal with that Twitter compression goodness for this.

You can find the full image above while also checking out the embedded tweet below. It's a key art sandwich.

This new piece of media came just a day after it dawned on people that the delayed PlayStation 4 release...
