Square Enix revealed that Outriders will be pushed back until a Holiday 2020 release window. However, alongside this unfortunate delay news comes word that the People Can Fly developed title is also working on PlayStation 5 and Xbox releases. Yes, that would be an Xbox Series X (Xbox SeX) announcement there, not an Xbox One, and not an OG Xbox. I'm already sick of this console's name.
But it's also coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the same time.
Outriders is a co-op RPG shooter "for a new generation." That's right, you Baby Boomers are no longer the target audience for these newfangled video games! It's all about them Gen Z'ers now! We got Generation Z playing the PlayStation 5 and Xbox SeX, what more could you want? Get ready for an "original, dark, and desperate sci-fi universe." Create your own character and embark on a journey across a hostile planet. Whoa dude! That sounds totally rad and swag. Ha ha, am I right?
That bit is done. And yes, I know they were probably talking about a new generation of consoles there. But also maybe not because it's still coming out on the current generation. It's really anybody's guess right now.
An Outriders reveal stream scheduled for Thursday, February 13 at 12PM (PT). This stream will feature game director Bartek Kmita, lead writer Joshua Rubin, and host Malik Forte. They'll be showing off the game for the entire world live on the Square Enix Twitch channel.
Some additional details on Outriders can be found below. In addition, we get a look at the game's official reveal trailer along with some static shots taken from the CG trailer. This will be some of the first concrete details we've gotten on this game since it was announced back in June of 2019.
OUTRIDERS is an RPG shooter set in an original, dark and desperate sci-fi universe.
