TikTok Ban Signed Into Law by President Biden

Owner ByteDance has 270 days to sell off TikTok.

On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid package that also included a bill that could ban TikTok in the United States. This ban can only be averted if the China-based company that owns TikTok, ByteDance, sells off the popular social media app before the 270 day time limit is up.

This gives ByteDance until January 19, 2025 to sell TikTok. An additional 90 day extension could be offered by President Biden if...

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Fortnite Might Add a First-Person Mode

This is perhaps not the FPS from Epic you were looking for.

Epic Games is no stranger to first-person shooters, what with them having made several of them with the Unreal franchise and all. Lately, their real bread and butter has been found in Fortnite, a game that is very much not an FPS.

That might be changing in the near future. Known Fortnite data miner and leaker, HYPEX, shared that Epic Games is developing a first-person camera mode for their battle royale.

A Washington Post interview with ESA president and CEO Stan Pierre-Louis, says that E3 will return in 2023 and will be both online and an in-person event. This will be the first in-person E3 event since 2019 due to COVID-related cancellations and whatnot.

It features a single new map, a single new Specialist, two new vehicles that are both helicopters, and a couple of new weapons.

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.0 Patch Notes

Yes, 1.0. We're up to version 1.0 after the game has been out now for almost 200 days.

Battlefield 2042 is truly the gift that keeps on giving. I mean that in the most condescending way possible here. Since Battlefield 2042 officially launched on November 19, 2021 it has received zero content updates while the team at DICE worked to make the game less of a steaming mess of a pile. The first season for the game is, at last, finally upon us and with it comes a rather anemic amount of...

Microsoft Makes Java and Bedrock Editions of Minecraft a Single Purchase

You can still play each version separately.

The tale of the two separate versions of Minecraft on PC is an odd one. A while back, if you had purchased the Java version of Minecraft prior to October 19, 2018, you were able to claim a free copy of the non-Java built Bedrock Edition for free. All you had to do was tie your existing Mojang account to your Microsoft account.

If you didn't own the game prior to that 2018 cutoff date, you could still get Minecraft, but you apparently...
