This is perhaps not the FPS from Epic you were looking for.
Epic Games is no stranger to first-person shooters, what with them having made several of them with the Unreal franchise and all. Lately, their real bread and butter has been found in Fortnite, a game that is very much not an FPS.
That might be changing in the near future. Known Fortnite data miner and leaker, HYPEX, shared that Epic Games is developing a first-person camera mode for their battle royale.
Naturally, as this is a leak and not an official announcement of anything from Epic, take this all with a grain of salt. It could be that Epic Games is just testing out things for Fortnite's Creative mode. It could be that they're testing things for some limited-time mode. It could be that they're just testing things and end up deciding that first-person doesn't belong in Fortnite at all.
Some Fortnite fans have already voiced some concerns about a possible first-person mode. Some say that a first-person mode would take away from the value of their character cosmetics. Others suggest that first-person should be limited to the Zero Build mode, introduced last season, due to the lack of needing better visibility for structure building.
If Epic announces anything concerning a first-person mode, it probably won't be for a while. HYPEX says that this first-person mode seems to be very early in development at present.
In related news, Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3: Vibin' launched this past weekend.
