Band Together in Terror: The Outlast Trials Review

The Outlast Trials proves that survival horror can be more fun with friends.

The Outlast Trials is a four-player PvE game taking place in the Cold War era. The game's opening moments and lore paint a gruesome and wicked scene that will be familiar to series veterans but disquieting to those new to the Outlast universe. Players work their way through a series of experiments, each of which plays out on various large maps like a police station, a courthouse, a carnival, and more. The g...

TikTok Ban Signed Into Law by President Biden

Owner ByteDance has 270 days to sell off TikTok.

On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid package that also included a bill that could ban TikTok in the United States. This ban can only be averted if the China-based company that owns TikTok, ByteDance, sells off the popular social media app before the 270 day time limit is up.

This gives ByteDance until January 19, 2025 to sell TikTok. An additional 90 day extension could be offered by President Biden if...

Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

Review: EWinRacing Flash XL Gaming Chair

Looking for a cheap gaming chair? Well… When it comes to "gaming" chairs, it is obvious that the opinions are as varied as the ever-growing number of brands in the market. Some companies push for the quick buck with products that are very clearly inferior in one way or another. These companies tend not to last long. Really, that's true for any industry. It's just common sense. I was never super into the whole "gaming" aesthetic. I am still not. However, I was offered a chance to revie...

Jade Raymond Leaving EA After Just 3 Years

Jade Raymond is parting ways with EA and the EA Motive studio that she helped to found. Taking up the reigns as studio lead will be Samantha Ryan. Ryan already leads EA Mobile, Maxis, and a BioWare studio.

EA Motive was initially founded in 2015 after Raymond left Ubisoft. The first project for the studio was working with Amy Hennig on the now cancelled Star Wars title from the now closed Visceral Games. EA Motive at least got to put some of that work to use in helping out with...

    Valve Delays Artifact Beta

Valve's beta for Artifact has been delayed until November 19. The beta was supposed to begin this month but that isn't happening. There is also concern that the game itself, which is still slated to begin on November 28, will also be pushed back due to the very late start on the beta.

PC Gamer seems to be the first outlet to notice this delay. They spotted a tweet by Wykrhm Reddy, a known tester for Valve, in which the November 19 date was prominently featured for the start of...

Fortnite: Save the World Free Release Delayed

This probably won't come as a shock to some of you and will probably make others go "isn't Fortnite just a battle royale game?", but the promised free release of the Save the World campaign for Fortnite has been delayed. First of all, no, Fortnite isn't just the battle royale game. In fact, it was a cooperative game focused on building and survival against zombies long before battle royale came about. But then battle royale happened and it was made clear that the Save the World campa...

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Sales Surpasses $500 Million in Three Days

The lack of a single player campaign sure as hell doesn't seem to matter to most of the gaming world, as evident by the fact that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 has pulled in over $500 million (USD) in worldwide sales just over its launch weekend.

To put it perspective, that is about the same amount that Call of Duty: WWII pulled in last year. However, it is down ever so slightly from Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 that pulled in over $550 million in its first three days.

This is an interesting story to share with you today. According to a new report from Kotaku, smaller retail shops will not get any copies of Red Dead Redemption 2 to sell until at least November.
