Band Together in Terror: The Outlast Trials Review

The Outlast Trials proves that survival horror can be more fun with friends.

The Outlast Trials is a four-player PvE game taking place in the Cold War era. The game's opening moments and lore paint a gruesome and wicked scene that will be familiar to series veterans but disquieting to those new to the Outlast universe. Players work their way through a series of experiments, each of which plays out on various large maps like a police station, a courthouse, a carnival, and more. The g...

TikTok Ban Signed Into Law by President Biden

Owner ByteDance has 270 days to sell off TikTok.

On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid package that also included a bill that could ban TikTok in the United States. This ban can only be averted if the China-based company that owns TikTok, ByteDance, sells off the popular social media app before the 270 day time limit is up.

This gives ByteDance until January 19, 2025 to sell TikTok. An additional 90 day extension could be offered by President Biden if...

Development of Gambling and Video Games in Japan

Japan has been the leader in game development for so long that some parts of the world believe all games are from this island country. The last few years haven’t been so kind to the gambling industry, though, since casino games from the west have become more prominent these days. That doesn’t mean Japanese consumers have totally deserted games developed by their own.

Here’s why Japan is regarded as a leader in the gaming world; Nintendo arcade and Classic...

How Gambling Has Impacted the Video Game Industry

Some folks love playing video games, others like to gamble, many love both and sometimes at the same time. Today, gambling and gaming are so intertwined that we often use these words as synonyms with no distinction between them. It wasn’t always so, as maybe just a decade ago, there was a clear difference between playing high stake poker and shooting Nazi zombies while playing Sniper Elite. When did things start to mix to this point where gambling is becoming an integral part of video...

Video Game Loot Boxes - Another way to play?

Loot boxes have become the centre of controversy ever since they began appearing as a standard feature in many video games. They have been equated with what is on offer at casinos – canadagamblingonline.com provides an excellent guide to the online gambling market in Canada and what is available – because they share characteristics of providing virtual games of chances, where the odds are stacked against the player in favour of the house. And they also appeal to the same psychological...

Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Reveal Delayed Until After Release

Original plan was to have it be revealed pre-release.
