QuakeCon 2019 is All About DOOM

    DOOOOOOOOM!

This year's QuakeCon event is all about DOOM. From the keynote to the panels, it's all DOOM all the time. Well, maybe not all the time, but DOOM is a very significant portion of this year's focus at QuakeCon.

Appropriately, this year's QuakeCon is literally being called "QuakeCon: Year of DOOM." It all begins on July 25 when QuakeCon begins at the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center. And yes, once again they will host the largest BYOC LAN event in North America if you're into that.

For those who cannot make it to QuakeCon for...

Anthem Falls Out of Top 49 Most Played Games on Xbox

It's being beat by games that have been out for far longer.

This week, Microsoft updated their most played games section on their store. These are the most played games in the Xbox ecosystem from 1 to 49. Why 49 and not 50? How am I supposed to know? The important part here is that Anthem has now fallen off of this most played list.

The last handful of games on the list include Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Borderlands 2, Brawlhalla, and Battlefield 1. That's Battlefield 1, not the more recent Battlefield 5 which is actually looking to be the 23rd most played game on the...

Survival Mode Beta Introduced to Fallout 76 Today

Here's something new for Fallout 76 players today, and a little something for those who may be playing Fallout 76 in the future. Bethesda released a beta for a new Survival Mode today that players can try out for themselves. This beta is available on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC versions of the game. This is a "more competitive" way to play the game that is separate from the main game. This mode essentially has fewer restrictions on PvP interactions.

Bethesda provided some additional details about today's new beta in their latest "Inside the Vault."...

  • Bethesda Announces Rage 2, Fallout 76, DOOM Eternal, and Two Wolfenstein Games Coming to Steam

Whatever color "extra surprised" may be, go ahead and color me that. Today, Bethesda announced that games we all believed to be exclusive to the Bethesda.net Launcher will also be arriving on Steam!

The studio announced earlier today that we will see the following games appearing on Steam in addition to the Bethesda.net Launcher.
    • RAGE 2
    • Wolfenstein: Youngblood
    • Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot
    • DOOM Eternal
    • Fallout 76
The tweet comes up just shy of saying that these games (save for Fallout 76) will be released day and date on both Steam and the Bethesda.net Launcher,...

Wild Appalachia Update Out Now for Fallout 76

Come one, come all to the big Wild Appalachia update for Fallout 76. This new content update, out right now, adds in new quests, new features, new events, and new crafting systems to the game.

Do you want to brew your own "tasty beverages?" Well, you will be able to with Wild Appalachia! Today's new content was released alongside a more general update for Fallout 76. This update includes a ton of bug fixes (I mean there are a lot of bug fixes), along with gameplay tweaks, and some balancing adjustments. I have no idea how many people are still playing the game, but...

Bethesda Reveals Fallout 76 Roadmap for 2019

Bethesda announced not one but two roadmaps for Fallout 76 today. One is an overview of some of the content and updates planned by the studio for 2019. This includes an outline of three different seasons worth of content, new game modes, quests, stories, events, and more.

The second roadmap is a more detailed breakdown of the upcoming "Wild Appalachia" update that is slated to arrive on March 12. Bethesda also revealed the names of two additional updates that are coming. They are "Nuclear Winter" and "Wastelanders." Bethesda does make sure to...

    Anthem Officially Launches Today

Despite the game being available now since February 15 under some circumstances, today marks the day in which Anthem has "officially" been released. While Origin Access and EA Access subscribers have already had a chance to play and, in some cases, "complete" the game, this will be the first time most players will get to dive in.

Today's release is accompanied by the "day one" patch, which we already provided the changelog for the other day. Anthem allows you and some friends (or random people if you prefer) to assume the role of Freelancers....

  • As Fallout 76 Flounders German GameStops are Giving Away the Game for Free with Used Controller Purchase

GameStop locations in Germany really seem to want to rid themselves of their Fallout 76 stock. It's apparently gotten to the point there that they are giving away free copies of Fallout 76 with every purchase of a used PlayStation 4 controller.

A user on Reddit, cenorexia, shared a photo at their local GameStop showing an announcement of the promotion.

As if that wasn't enough, some users in that Reddit thread actually pointed out that it would be cheaper to fly from Italy to Germany to purchase a copy of Fallout 76. The game is still apparently being sold for...

    Gaming's Biggest Disappointments 2018

2018 sure was a long decade. Let us forego the boring introduction and just get into gaming's biggest disappointments of 2018. The games seen here are only games that I played, with the exception of one of them. I am sure there are other terrible games, but I probably did not play them.

    The Quiet Man
The Quiet Man is just straight up trash with no redeeming qualities. This game has quickly taken the title of "the worst game I have ever played in my life." The action was pathetic. The controls were garbage. The character animation was abysmal. The live-action...

Rage 2 Looks Like Another Bethesda Launcher Exclusive

Following in the footsteps of the infamous Fallout 76, Bethesda looks like they're going to stick to their guns when it comes to their Bethesda.net Launcher. It has been noticed by more than a few individuals, that Rage 2 is only being listed on the Bethesda.net Store for the PC version.

There is no Steam page for the game. There is no mention of Steam anywhere in the Rage 2 vocabulary. This seems to have come to light last night when pre-orders for the game went live and the options for the PC version were not what people were expecting. Hopeful owners can select a couple different versions of the game, the cheapest of which be...

Bethesda Support System is Leaking Customers' Personal Information

There is a saying that goes, "when it rains, it pours." In Bethesda's case, it has been a full on monsoon for the past couple of weeks. You already know about the whole issue with the canvas bag. That's the "been there, done that" issue. This week, it's time for the new hotness! A Reddit user has claimed that they are receiving Bethesda support tickets to his Bethesda account.

This all actually began when Bethesda instructed upset Fallout 76: Power Armor Edition customers to contact their support site in order to receive the canvas bags they were promised. Some customers, after having submitted their own ticket, say that they have received the information...

  • Bethesda to Send Proper Canvas Bags to Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition Owners

Bethesda to Send Proper Canvas Bags to Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition Owners

Bethesda revealed that they will now give proper canvas bags to customers that purchased the Fallout 76 Power Armor Edition. As you probably recall, the customers that purchased that version of the game were given not the canvas bags they were advertised, but rather a nylon bag that is in no way comparable to canvas.

At $200, you would think that they would actually provide the item that is still being advertised at retailers, right? Thankfully, Bethesda realized the error of their ways. Well, they realized this after they thought $5 (USD), or 500 Atoms, of in-game currency was enough to make up for a very clear bait-and-switch. A Tweet ma...

  • Bethesda Gave Fallout 76 Canvas Bags to Influencers, But Not to Paying Customers

Two days ago, we reported on the story that Bethesda pulled a bait-and-switch when it came to delivering a canvas bag to fans that spent $200 for Fallout 76's Power Armor Edition. As you recall, they were instead given a nylon bag and not the canvas bag that is still being advertised at retailers like Amazon and GameStop.

Yesterday, we reported on how Bethesda's compensation was meager, at best. They offered up $5 of in-game currency that can be used to maybe buy a door and some plants.

And now today comes word that Bethesda provided influencers with a canvas bag ahead of Fallout 76's launch. Sure, it's not the canvas bag that is still...

Bethesda Pushes The Elder Scrolls: Blades to 2019

Bethesda's upcoming free-to-play mobile title, The Elder Scrolls: Blades was set to be released this Fall. Instead, the studio has officially announced today that the game will not be released until some time in 2019. Things don't really seem to be going well for Bethesda this week, eh?

Given that we are now less than a month away from Winter kicking off, time was getting cut a little close to meet that "Fall" promise. The official word of the delay came via the official Elder Scrolls Twitter account.

You know what? After the state that Fallout 76 was released in, perhaps it's best...

Bethesda Issues Meager Compensation in Response to Nylon Bag Controversy

Yesterday, we brought you the story about how Bethesda pulled a bait-and-switch on consumers that purchased the $200 Power Armor Edition of Fallout 76. Today, we have a bit of an update on the story to share with you. Bethesda noticed that there were suddenly a lot of eyes on them after multiple media outlets picked up the story, and in response they decided to try to make things right.

Bethesda, by way of the official Fallout Twitter account, announced a bit of compensation late last night. While you may be stuck with a cheap nylon bag instead of the canvas bag you were promised, you at least get...
