  • BlizzCon 2024 Cancelled

    Might return in the future.

Blizzard says that "after careful consideration" they have decided to not hold BlizzCon in 2024. The studio says that the "decision was not made lightly."

While Blizzard says that they hope the big in-person event will return in future years, they will be doing something a little different for 2024. Over the next few months, Blizzard will share details about some new launches for expansions coming for existing titles. Namely, they will share new information for World of Warcraft: The War Within and Diablo 4's first expansion, Vessel of Hatred. These expansions will be shared as part of "other industry trade shows and conventions like Gamescom."

Overwatch fans will get the Overwatch Champions Series at Dreamhack Dallas and Dreamhack Stockholm. There will also be "multiple, global, in-person events to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Warcraft." These are being held in addition to the in-game celebrations of the 30th anniversary.

In 2023, BlizzCon took place in Anaheim, California. The big issue amongst fans at last year's event came from the price of tickets. General Admission tickets were sold for $299 per person at a minimum. For a "Portal Pass" ticket to BlizzCon, you had to spend $799.
