Review: Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition

15 years and a fresh coat of paint later.

Almost 15 years to the day that the original Age of Empires III was released comes the remastered Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. Love it or hate it, the original certainly left an impression on fans of the franchise. I am not saying all those impressions were necessarily good, but they were impressions none the less.

What we have here is a remastering of one of the more divisive Age of Empires games released. Upon first...

AMD has revealed its new lineup of Ryzen 5000 processors for desktop PCs. These are the first CPUs to make use of the company's Zen 3 architecture and are, as you would expect, the most powerful processors to date. AMD even goes on to claim that the Ryzen 5900X is the "world's best gaming CPU."

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Delayed

Pre-patch also pushed out to October 13.

Blizzard just said that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, the next major expansion for their still popular MMORPG, has been delayed. It has been pushed back now until "later this year" with a solid release date not yet revealed. As is typical for these sorts of delays, the delay was an "incredibly difficult decision for the team" but they ultimately feel as though it was the "right decision for the game--and for (the)...

Review: Crysis Remastered Is One Step Forward, Two Steps Back

Maximum meh.

In 2007 the original Crysis was released for the PC. The big question on everyone's mind at the time, and even through to today, is "can your PC run Crysis?" Usually, the answer was "yes, but…" because even the beefiest of computer hardware had trouble maxing out the graphical options that Crysis brought to the table at the time.

Fast-forward to 2020 and the answer gets a bit more muddled. See, the original Crysis was very dependent on...

  • Merry Christmas from TGN

    Merry Christmas from TGN

Just a quick note to wish everyone (that celebrates it) a Merry Christmas for 2013! Don't expect there to be much news going on this week. I may not have much planned that would prevent news from going up but I doubt there will be much coming in from publishers and developers for the next week or so, at least until 2014. I might get some content up and I'm thinking about possible game of the year stuff for 2013. I think it will just be some written pieces since the thought of writing ...

  • Rumor: EA May Offer Free Battlefield 4 DLC as Apology for Releasing a Buggy Mess

As a way of apologizing to the community, EA may offer up some free DLC for Battlefield 4 if current rumors are to be believed. It isn't much to go on, but the rumor suggests that DICE and EA will give out some free DLC to make up for releasing what is arguably the buggiest AAA release of 2013. If it's the China Rising DLC, that would be really stupid considering most everyone already has that anyway. Will it be Second Assault? Maybe, but then those who purchased the Season Pass will be...

Let's Play: The Walking Dead Season 2 - Episode 1 Finale

That's it. That's all she wrote for the first episode for The Walking Dead: Season 2 from Telltale Games. It's a slow news day (as in there really isn't jack squat to post about this week), so you may see even more videos than usual from me this week.

I hope you enjoyed watching (if you did). As usual, if you plan on playing the game, be sure to play it first and then come back to watch my play through. Feel free to share this and the other videos, and maybe give it a thumbs...

    Steam Holiday Sale 2013 - Day 3

It's going to be a slow news day when the only really worthwhile thing I see to put up is about a sale you already know about. Ah well, I'm sure I'll find something to put up today.

List of games available for sale in the third day of the Steam Holiday Sale 2013...

  • New Dragon Age: Inquisition Screenshots to Celebrate the Completion of the Story

The crew at BioWare have released some new screenshots of Dragon Age: Inquisition today to mark the special "Holiday Build" of the game. What is a "Holiday Build" you ask? The Holiday Build for this particular game means the game has reached a stage of completion where the main storyline is completely playable from beginning to end. It also means that all of the gameplay systems are working together, voice over recordings are starting for large portions of the game, music is being ad...
