Ion Fury Devs Apologize for Numerous Sexist, Homophobic, and Transphobic Remarks

Sweeping changes are promised as a result.

Voidpoint, the studio behind the just released Ion Fury, has apologized for a series of "incidents" wherein multiple developers were found to use transphobic, ableist, homophobic, and sexist language in the game's official Discord channel. This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Over the weekend, a thread had popped up on gaming forum ResetEra that showed multiple instances where the developers had made transphobic remarks via Discord. Members of the dev team were also shown to make...

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Even...

Sony Bought Insomniac Games Today

Get ready for more Spider-Man.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

    Bound by Flame Review (PS4)

Bound by Flame initially seems like the type of game you would get if you threw some of the engaging and interesting game elements from The Witcher franchise in with the brutal difficulty of the Dark Souls series. In theory, this sounds like a gamer's dream come true. In execution, at least in the case of Bound by Flame, the end result leaves a lot to be desired. At the very start of the game, the player is asked to name their character. It doesn't really matter because the most it will ever be used is at the top of dialogue boxes. Every other character simply calls your player by his default name, Vulcan. So, it's already off to an odd start with this identity crisis, one that could have easily been avoided by never verbally stating the main character's name through spoken dialogue or by simply never giving the player the option to choose a custom name. The main issue here is that this is onl...

  • Epic Games Announces a Free Unreal Tournament Co-Developed by the Community and Built on Unreal Engine 4

Epic Games announced that they are co-developing a new Unreal Engine 4 Unreal Tournament. Epic's Mark Rein revealed that the new game will not be "free to play," rather it will simply be "free."
"We see this as an ongoing project with no end date," project lead Steve Polge said. "Unreal Tournament will be the base both for the continued evolution of the competitive FPS, and as a great way to enable aspiring developers to realize their visions for this kind of game." "We see a unique opportunity to re-invent the competitive FPS. Epic will will work closely with the community to decide what is included in the core Unreal Tournament game, but at the same time we plan to blur that distinction by making it extremely easy for gamers to access a

Killing Floor 2 Officially Revealed - Screenshots and First Details

It's about damn time this game was officially announced to the public, that's all I really have to say. Tripwire Interactive, by way of PC Gamer, has blasted the lid off of Killing Floor 2. From the looks of things, we're headed to a version of Paris that has certainly seen better days. You know, days where it wasn't on fire and there weren't disfigured specimens roaming the streets.

Some hot new features to look out for in Killing Floor 2? Well, first off, the team plans on making gore a big part of their game.
"When we started designing the game we decided gore was going to be the most important feature," says David Hensley, art director on Killing Floor 2. "We were really inspired by Soldier of Fortune, the GHOUL

  • Dark Souls 2 PC Review

    Dark Souls 2 PC Review

Prepare to die all over again thanks to the PC release of Dark Souls 2 by From Software. Now, in thinking back to Total Gaming Network's review of the first Dark Souls for the PC, it was largely positive. We had a few issues here and there but most of the major complaints were alleviated thanks to a little community made tool called DSfix. If the original Dark Souls did not have DSfix, the first outing for the franchise on the PC would have been a complete disaster. Thankfully, From Software seems to have learned from their mistakes with the first outing and have made significant strides to bring some of the typical bells and whistles that PC gamers have grown accustomed to having over the years. The load times are fantastic, even when installed to a typical, mechanical drive. I don't believe I was ever able to finish reading the text shown on a single load screen in my over 31 hours of ...
