A Rumor Suggests a Knights of the Old Republic Remake is in Development

It's a slow news day, so here's a rumor born from a single site.

A new rumor was fired up yesterday from cinelinx.com that says a remake of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is currently in the works. There might be a bit of validity behind this rumor, we aren't exactly sure ourselves. The track record of cinelinx is unknown to us, but it's a slow news day so let's roll with it.

The site claims that two independent sources have told them that Knights of the Old R...

Court Rules that Player's Free Speech Rights Weren't Violated After Being Banned From a Video Game

Imagine that, a gamer was dumb enough to argue about free speech rights.

A federal court dismisses a case where an (alleged) moron complained about his free speech rights being violated in a video game. A Pennsylvania man actually tried to claim that his civil rights were violated after he was muted by the developers in an online video game.

To interject briefly: Yes, there are indeed people that don't have a fucking clue what "freedom of speech" actually means....

  • (Update) DSfix for Dark Souls is Taken Down After Bandai Namco Reportedly Issues a DMCA Takedown

Update: It seems as though this was all just a big misunderstanding. NeoGAF user, Chariot, received a reply back from FDS File Defense Service, a group tasked with removing the "debug mode patches" for Dark Souls.
Good news: everything's ok guys! I just called Volker Rieck from FDS File Defense Service. They were indeed hired by Bandai Namco, but not the germany division, but the US Europe one, to take down all the debug mode patches. Dutante's DSfix was not part of the plan! Mr. R

2014's Biggest Disappointments in the Gaming Industry - Part 1

As we near the end of another year it's time once again to collect our thoughts and think back on all the absolute garbage we have all had to endure from the gaming industry over these past 12 months. This ranges from terrible games, to terrible developers and publishers, the gaming press, and even the gaming community. Undoubtedly, some of the "worst" offenders will be obvious, but maybe, just maybe, there will be a few surprises included below. This will differ from previous years in that thi...

Black Mesa Multiplayer - New Screenshots and Information

Hey, remember Black Mesa? Remember how it was delayed for a really long time (about eight years) and then when it finally came out (in 2012) it lacked about a quarter of the single player game and didn't come with the promised multiplayer? Do you also remember how it was one of the first ten games approved on Steam Greenlight and it still isn't out yet on Steam? Yeah, good times. However, let's ignore the doom and gloom and focus on the here and now. The now being December 2014 and the big...

Halo 5 Will Not Include Four Player Local Split Screen

We have some disappointing news for Halo fans today. It was revealed by Josh Holmes, the Studio Head for Halo 5: Guardians that the game will not feature local split screen for four players. It will max out at two for local multiplayer with four people possible through Xbox Live only.

If you plan on going through the campaign with three of your buddies, make sure you have at least two televisions, two systems, and two copies of the game.
