Review: GreedFall (PC)

A long and thrilling journey.

GreedFall is a game that filled a gaping void I did not know I had for a new action-RPG experience. Though it lacks some of the polish you would expect from a major game release these days, the game still rewards the player with fun and varied combat, complex story beats, and an overall experience that should make even the veterans at BioWare sit up and take notice. For those of you that have been on the fence about picking up GreedFall, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not go pick it up right now.

Blizzard Issues Insultingly Pathetic Statement About Blitzchung Suspension and Reasoning

The cowards just doubled down.

Taking a page from politicians and businesses that know late on Friday is the best time to release news that you are positively ashamed to share, Blizzard has finally issued a statement about the recent ban on Blitzchung and two Hearthstone casters.

Before we get into it all, let's just read what they have to say. Here is Blizzard's full statement as it currently appears on their website.

Despite a reduction of six months for the suspension, Blizzard is still punishing Blitzchung. The...

Layoffs Hit PlayStation Europe

SIEE had no prior knowledge of PS5 reveal.

A new report from VGC says that Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE) is undergoing a "restructuring" of several areas at the company, including marketing and PR. VGC says that they were informed of this unfortunate news from "people with knowledge of the situation."

As if that wasn't bad enough, VGC's report says that SIEE employees were informed about when American PlayStation directors visited SIEE in their London location. Those employees who were impacted by these layoffs...

Blizzard Employees Walkout in Protest of Unjust Ban on Pro-Hong Kong Hearthstone Player

Earlier this week, Blizzard had banned a professional Hearthstone player, Chung "Blitzchung" Ng Wai, after he voiced his support for the pro-democracy Hong Kong protesters. Blitzchung voiced his support during a post-game interview during an official livestream.

Not only did Blizzard quickly cut away from the interview...

PlayStation 5 Confirmed for Holiday 2020 Release

Sony dishes more details about their next-gen console and controller.

The announcement of the next-gen consoles has been really, really weird. Sony first announced the PlayStation 5 via a Wired interview with Mark Cerny. Since then, there really hasn't been much revealed about the new console. In fact, it wasn't even known until today that the next console was actually going to be called the "PlayStation 5."

Today, a new PlayStation Blog entry was released alongside yet another exclusive Wired article that provides some additional details...

  • Six Month Subscription Plan Removed from The Elder Scrolls Online - Pointing Towards F2P Soon?

Some players noticed that the six-month subscription option for The Elder Scrolls Online was removed from the game. When this has happened to other MMO's in the past, this seemed to point towards a move of the game to a free to play model in some cases. In other cases, it actually pointed to the game being shut down completely such as with Warhammer Online. ZeniMax has made no official announcement about anything yet. The only thing they said about this move is that users simply preferred the shorter billing options and saw no need for the six month optio...

Indie Games The rise of Indie games continued in 2014. • PSN and XBL Experiencing Outages as Media Outlets Unnecessarily Spread Fear

You may have already heard by now, but both PlayStation Network and Xbox Live have been experiencing some outages these past few days. Sure, a lot of the problem probably stems from the normal holiday rush of new console owners trying to get online but there's a bit more. Yep, a group of people are DDoS'ing both online services and bringing their login and authentication servers down. As a result, new and existing owners of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are finding it difficult to get online. Xbox One owners are having slightly better luck since Microsoft's serve...

The Best in Gaming 2014 - Part 1

It's Christmas Eve and that can only mean one thing: I've been drinking. It also means that I put off writing my "best of" entry until the worst possible moment.

Let's face it, 2014 pretty much sucked in almost every aspect for the gaming industry. This was one of the few years where the "good" was the rarity. Thankfully, there was some good to be found. There were still some great games released and some really fantastic treats for gaming fans and the industry at large. Be sure to gather up your friends and family because it's time to read through...

Guest Reviews: Marlow Briggs and Hatoful Boyfriend

Recently, I bought a bunch of Steam games for a variety of people. Some of the purchases were joke buys, yet others were not. The games mentioned in the reviews below were meant as joke gifts but Total Gaming Network user and frequent visitor to the Team Speak server I and a group of friends hang out on, actually had a blast playing these games. User EdwardMowinckel decided to repay the kindness by writing up his thoughts and feelings on those games. What lies below this line is all his work. I'd like to thank Edward for providing Total Gaming Network with these ...
