This is on top of some homophobic language found within the game itself.

Respawn Apologizes to Ass-hat Gamers for 'Ass-hat' Remarks

Statement issued from Respawn's Vince Zampella.

Respawn's CEO Vince Zampella issued a bit of an apology today after members of the Apex Legends development team called a bunch of toxic ass-hat gamers, well... they called them ass-hats. Donning their biggest surprised Pikachu face possible, these Gamers™ got extra angry when they realized they couldn't just keep dishing it out and not expect some form of retaliation in return. Some continued to throw tantrums, others called for boycots, while still others did their best "I studied the blade" impersonation.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has officially purchased Insomniac Games today. You're probably surprised to hear that the studio that developed last year's PlayStation 4 exclusive Spider-Man wasn't already owned by Sony prior to this week.

Insomniac Games was first started in 1994 and remained an independent game developer for this 25 year span of time. They created Spyro the Dragon, the Ratchet & Clank games, along with the Resistance franchise. All of these franchises were PlayStation exclusives, at least initially. Every so...

Xbox One Has Shipped 5 Million Units to Retailers

Microsoft has revealed that the Xbox One has shipped over 5 million units to retailers since its launch. That again is a figure that has shipped to retailers but not necessarily sold to consumers.

There is quite a big difference between those two things. However, beyond that, Microsoft has also noted that March was a strong month for the Xbox One. They sold 311,000 units through the month, while the Xbox 360 sold 111,000 units. They also note that, on average, there are 2.9 games sold per Xbox One console. They also note that the Xbox 360 sold 2.7 million games in March and the Xbox One sold 1.4 million games. There...

VHS Tapes Used to Achieve the Low-fi Look in Alien: Isolation

The above video from GameSpot for Alien: Isolation shows off how the team managed to achieve "low-fi sci-fi." That is to say, the team actually recorded game elements and UI elements to VHS tape, messed with the cables, imported that back into the game environment and what resulted was pure 1970's magic.

    That's actually really awesome....

The Most Popular and Least Popular Steam Games Discovered

Art Technica put together a list of some of the most popular and some of the least popular games on Steam. They go on a bit about how they gathered the data but that's a bit boring. I mean, if you really want to know, you can head over to read their full article or simply look below for the interesting stuff outlined in the headline.

As you can see, just because a game is registered to a lot of Steam accounts doesn't mean it's popular. Half-Life 2: Lost Coast, for instance, is the third-most popular game on the service by ownership, registered to about 12.8 million Steam accounts by our count. But the tech demo, which shows off some deleted content from Half-Life 2, has only

Free Content Promised for Upcoming Titanfall Updates

A new blog update from the Titanfall team indicates that Respawn is hard at work ironing out remaining issues with the game and have hinted at some future, free content for the game. Essentially, they plan on releasing as much free content (with the exception of map packs) as possible.
First, we tend the garden and keep the weeds out. The focus here is on the current game, rather than adding new features. One category here would be minor tweaks and fixes, such as our recent adjustments to the Gooser challenge, more generous Hardpoint scoring for attacking players, and weapon balance tweaks to the Titan 40mm and Quad Rocket.
