Band Together in Terror: The Outlast Trials Review

The Outlast Trials proves that survival horror can be more fun with friends.

The Outlast Trials is a four-player PvE game taking place in the Cold War era. The game's opening moments and lore paint a gruesome and wicked scene that will be familiar to series veterans but disquieting to those new to the Outlast universe. Players work their way through a series of experiments, each of which plays out on various large maps like a police station, a courthouse, a carnival, and more. The g...

TikTok Ban Signed Into Law by President Biden

Owner ByteDance has 270 days to sell off TikTok.

On April 24, President Joe Biden signed a foreign aid package that also included a bill that could ban TikTok in the United States. This ban can only be averted if the China-based company that owns TikTok, ByteDance, sells off the popular social media app before the 270 day time limit is up.

This gives ByteDance until January 19, 2025 to sell TikTok. An additional 90 day extension could be offered by President Biden if...

Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

With that said, let's look forward to the future, all the way to the year 2018! Specifically, we're looking at Fall 2018 which will be the starting window for the Fortnite World Cup Qualifiers. This will all come to a head at the first Fortnite World Cup in late 2019.

If you like your gameplay reveals to be long, full of kissing, and even more full of some really graphic violence, you are in for a treat. The first gameplay reveal trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 hits all of those marks and more. Naughty Dog isn't pulling any punches here, that's for damn sure.

Before that, here's a little bit about the game from Naughty Dog's Neil Druckmann via the PlayStation Blog. As of right now, there is no release date for the game.

  • Yakuza Kiwami 2 E3 2018 Trailer

    Yakuza Kiwami 2 E3 2018 Trailer

As part of Sony's bizarre/annoying E3 coverage/conference/week-long event they apparently showcased a new trailer for Yakuza Kiwami 2. It's not terribly long but it is new and Yakuza is a fun franchise, so I'm posting it.
One of the most beloved storylines in the Yakuza franchise's history has returned in full HD in the Dragon Engine for PlayStation®4. Yakuza Kiwami 2 features the return of mini games like Cabaret, a revamped clan creator and the original arcade release of Virtual-On™,

Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami Coming to PC

Speaking of the Yakuza developers, it was announced this week that both Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami are coming to the PC. This announcement sure came out of nowhere, that's for sure.

First up looks to be Yakuza 0, which you can pre-purchase right now on Steam for $17.99 (USD) with a 10% discount. This one will be released on August 1, 2018. As you may recall, I kind of really loved Yakuza 0. I'm sure I'll love it even more with an uncapped framerate and the option to go up...

A Western release for Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise was confirmed this week at E3. Sega announced a release date of October 2, 2018 for the PlayStation 4 action title.

Fist of the North Star is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. It's developed by the same studio that brought you the Yakuza franchise, as if that wasn't already apparent from some of the footage you'll see below. It also means that the game will include a lot of side missions and minigames to enjoy in between...

Check Out About 13 Minutes of Resident Evil 2 Remake Gameplay

PlayStation offers up a 13 minute long video that showcases a generous helping of gameplay from the Resident Evil 2 remake. Which, btw, seems to just be called Resident Evil 2 and not Resident Evil 2 Remake as we kind of figured it would be.

It's looking good. It's looking real good.

Be sure to check out the two new cinematic trailers and a bunch of new screenshots we already posted courtesy of E3 2018.

Sony Blocks Fortnite Cross-Play Between PS4 and Switch Players

Sony continues to baffle and anger fans with their archaic multiplayer stances. The latest is that players on the newly released Nintendo Switch version of Fortnite will not be allowed to play with those on the PlayStation 4 version. Switch owners can, however, play with Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile players. Even worse is the fact that players are now finding out that they cannot link their Epic accounts to the Switch version of the game if it's already been tied to their PSN account...

  • Valve Overhauls the Steam Chat System

Valve Overhauls the Steam Chat System

For the first time in years, Valve has provided a drastic overhaul to the Friends and Chat system within Steam. It has an all-new look with some new functionality such as embedding things like images, Giphy links, Twitter, Twitch, and even YouTube. You can even use something like /giphy to insert a random Giphy image, because that seems safe?

It's got improvements to group chats, improvements to voice chat, it has a two week long chat history you can keep, it has a new "persona" invisible mode, a new way to rename friends, a new way to trade, a new way to add friends, and more!

You can try this new functionality out in two different ways. You can either opt into the current Steam client beta by going to Steam > Settings > Account and opting into the currently available beta OR you can try it out via your web browser....

Destiny 2: Forsaken to Introduce Gambit Multiplayer Activity

A new multiplayer "activity" for Destiny 2 coming with the Forsaken expansion is said to deliver an experience with an "upwards trajectory of fun." This is of course if you believe the remarks made by design lead Lars Bakken. He's talking about the new Gambit multiplayer activity which was revealed earlier today.
Boiled down, Gambit is a competitive, team-based speed run, hooked around four core steps: fight, collect, bank, invade (all four of which can be happening simultaneously).

Oh yeah, spoiler alert for Destiny 2: Forsaken or something. Not that it matters since Bungie themselves straight up shows the serial punster getting blasted in the face by Prince Emo* (*actual name Uldren Sov).
The Reef has fallen to lawlessness, and now the most-wanted criminals in the galaxy – the Barons & Uldren Sov – have organized a jailbreak at the Prison of Elders. You and Cayde-6 have been sent in to bring law and order back to the embattled facility, but things do not

New Death Stranding Trailer and Details from E3 2018

As part of Sony's E3 conference tonight, Kojima Productions showed off yet another new trailer for Death Stranding. It's uh... it's something. It sure is a thing. After like three showings of this game now, we still don't have a damn clue as to what is going on.
For this trailer, we’re showing quite a bit of gameplay (although the camera angle is altered in some spots). The first half and the last sequence in particular are most representative of the actual gameplay. There are some
