Dawntrail is the name of the fifth expansion for the widely acclaimed MMO, Final Fantasy 14 Online. This new expansion is expected to be released in the summer of 2024 for PC, PlayStation, and for the first time ever, Xbox.

Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail will bring in a ton of new content to the game, as you may have come to expect from a fresh expansion release. Included in the content will be an increased level cap, multiple new jobs, new areas to explore and adventure in, new allied tribes, new dungeons, new FATEs, new Hunts, new Treasure Hunts, new sidequests, and more.

Whew, that is a lot of new stuff, but that's not even everything! Square Enix also provides a lit of some of the new features coming in Dawntrail:

• Journey to the New World, Tural, and its capital, Tuliyollal
• Explore new areas, including the mountainous Urqopacha and the forest of Yak T’el
• New Allied Tribes, including the diminutive Pelupelu who wear distinctive masks and inhabit Urqopacha
• Level Cap increase from 90 to 100
• Multiple New Jobs
• Core Battle Content including FATEs, Hunts, Treasure Hunts and Sidequests
• New Dungeons
• New Threats, including Valigarmanda
• Duty Support Update
• New Gear and Recipes
• Expansive New Lifestyle Content
• New Variant Dungeons, Alliance Raid, 8-Player Raid and Ultimate Raid
• PvP Update
• Ongoing Content Updates, including a Blue Mage Update, Inconceivably Further Hildibrand Adventures, New Plans for Deep Dungeons and a Gold Saucer Update

​As if all of that wasn't enough, Square Enix is making some significant graphical updates for Final Fantasy 14 with the release of Dawntrail. This expansion will introduce the first graphical updates for the game and will focus on character and world visuals. Those include:

• Improvements to screen-wide aesthetic appeal
• Higher resolution textures and shadows
• Improved material qualities

​Finally, the free trial for Final Fantasy 14 is also getting expanded once Patch 6.5 is released. The "Even Further Expanded Free Trial" will add in all of the content from the Stormblood expansion (plus updates through Patch 4.58), plus the Red Mage and Samurai playable jobs, and will allow new players to level up to 70. All of this will be free to new players with no limits on play time.

Oh, and for you Fall Guys fans out there, a "Warriors of Light Fame Pass" will release on August 22, 2023. This crossover content will also add in a Fall Guys-inspired Gold Saucer attraction to Final Fantasy 14 in patch 6.5x.
