    E3 2021 is Officially a Go

A variety of publishers and studios have already voiced their support.

First, we knew that E3 2021 was going to be an all-digital event. Then we found out that it will, in fact, be free to everyone. Now, we know that E3 is officially happening and will take place from June 12-15.

The Entertainment Software Association says that they have "early commitments from Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, and Koch Media."...

E3 2021 is Going All Digital

At least they're planning something this year.

In 2020, E3 decided they weren't going to hold their annual event due to COVID-19. Pandemics, am I right? That was probably the smartest idea they've had in a while. What wasn't all that great was the fact that they did not have any sort of digital substitute lined up to replace it. This led to a long, drawn-out Summer where every publisher seemingly had their own event on whatever day and time they wanted.

    That kind of sucked....

This whole thing is being labeled an "all-digital consumer celebration." The Summer Game Fest will bring fans "a season of breaking news, in-game events, and free playable content" from a variety of developers, publishers, and platform owners....

E3 2020 Cancelled as Covid-19 Declared Global Pandemic

Wait, am I out of a job now?

Earlier today, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus (Covid-19) a pandemic. Think of a pandemic as an epidemic that has a much greater reach. Epidemics could be considered to be localized to just a few places in the world. Pandemics signify that there is a global impact. For a while, Covid-19 was still considered an epidemic because it was largely contained to areas of China and mostly to those that travel. As the virus continues...

  • Geoff Keighley to Skip E3 for First Time as Troubles Mount for Dying Trade Show

This comes the same day the exhibitor list was leaked.

Geoff Keighley, creator of The Game Awards, revealed today that he will not be attending E3 2020. His decision to not attend this year's event will mark the first time in 25 years that the industry veteran will not be in attendance. It also means that he will not host the annual E3 Coliseum show. This was a regular event where Keighley would host a series of game developers in a rather informal Q&A, allowing them to talk freely...

  • Dr. Disrespect Unbanned from Twitch Just Two Weeks After Livestreaming in Bathroom

Twitch rule enforcement continues to be a joke.

Twitch has lifted the suspension on Dr. Disrespect after just two weeks into the already tame one month ban that was initially imposed on the streamer. The ban was initially handed out hours after the two-timer and his camera crew filmed a minor using a public restroom during a live E3 2019 stream.

It was the first day of E3 when multiple thousands of viewers witnessed the incident. Guy "Dr. Disrespect" Beahm was...

The Witcher 3 on Switch Runs at 540p in Handheld Mode

Docked mode is a bit better at 720p.

When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition was announced for the Nintendo Switch this week, it was met with a mixture of excitement and apprehension. Fans were a bit worried about what sacrifices had to be made to the game's visuals to get a game as resource hungry as The Witcher 3. Even consoles like the PlayStation 4 struggled to maintain an acceptable framerate in the game at its launch.

Admittedly, CD Projekt RED made some significant...
