RPG-themed Steam Digital Tabletop Sale is Now Underway

Perfect for those that like tabletop games but also video games.

Valve just launched their latest Steam Digital Tabletop Fest. The latest is focused on RPG games and runs from today, October 21st through to October 25 at 10AM (PT). This sale is perfect for those that like tabletop games but prefer that they come in video game format instead. It's an odd paradox, but it makes sense in a weird sort of way.

I'm not going to pretend like I understand how you can have a tabletop...

New World Server Transfers Delayed, No Region Transfers Allowed

    Bad news from Amazon Games.

Amazon Games has delayed their promised server transfer feature for New World. This is apparently due to some "edge cases where the transfer experience does not meet our standards for its release."

Not only is this feature delayed in general, but it seems as though players will not be able to transfer characters to other regions outside of the one their character is playing on. This is in spite of Amazon Games previously saying that...

Amazon Games Cracking Down on New World AFK Abusers

An anti-AFK system is being implemented to reduce the strain on servers.

On Sunday, New World from Amazon Games surpassed 913,000 concurrent players. The new MMO has been going quite strong ever since its release on Tuesday of last week. However, the servers are still suffering a bit.

Since release, Amazon has taken some great strides to try to reduce the player queue times around the world. They have added a lot of additional servers. They have also increased the server...

New World Might Still be Killing Graphics Cards

This isn't necessarily an issue with the game, but a manufacturing issue or coincidence.

In late July 2021, a beta period for Amazon Games' new MMORPG, New World, caused some graphics cards to die. The lack of a framerate cap was initially blamed for killing a small number of RTX 3090 cards, mainly those from EVGA, but that really didn't make much sense. After all, tons of games can run with uncapped framerates and they don't cause PC hardware to die.

    Amazon Games did...

Amazon Adds Multiple Servers to Meet New World Demand

    More servers is more better.

Yesterday, Amazon Games launched their new MMORPG New World to some really eager players. I guess the desire for a new MMO was extra strong because damn did this game ever take off. As we reported yesterday, there were several hundred thousand people stuck in server queues for multiple hours. These were in addition to the some 427,000+ players that were already actually playing at the time.

Part of the problem for New World is the fact that...

Chapters 3-5 of Deltarune to Release at Same Time

It will benefit both the dev team and fans.

This past week, Deltarune: Chapter 2 was released and contrary to initial statements, it was released for free to everyone. The wait between Chapter 1's release and Chapter 2's release was quite long. A period of about three years spanned between the release of the first two chapters.

Thankfully, the waits between Chapters 3, 4, and 5 won't be nearly as long. In fact, creator Toby Fox says that he plans to release all three of...

New World MMO Once Again Delayed

The game will now be released in September.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: The Amazon Games developed MMORPG, New World, has been delayed. Shocking, right? This is at least the fourth delay for the game since it was announced in December of 2019. It was first delayed in April 2020 until August 2020. Then it was delayed in July 2020 until some time in 2021. Then in February of this year it was pushed to August. And now, here we are in August of 2021 and the game is now delayed...

Final Fantasy 14 Icon Changed After Complaints from Users with Trypophobia

The Sage icon has been adjusted every so slightly.

The Sage job is one of the new ones coming to Final Fantasy 14 as part of the upcoming Endwalker expansion. This is a healer class that can fight with four floating blades called nouliths. The icon for the Sage depicts these four weapons, but the original design came with one unexpected side-effect.

Apparently the original icon for the Sage was making some players feel "uncomfortable or fearful." The reason for...
