Sounds like People Can Fly's most ambitious game yet.

People Can Fly, the studio behind games like Bulletstorm and the Painkiller franchise, just announced their latest action title this evening at Square Enix's E3 event. It's called Outriders and it's looking to be a sci-fi shooter featuring drop-in-drop-out co-op for 1 to 3 players.

It's currently in development for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and is targeting a Summer 2020 release window. People Can Fly says that they have "over 200 developers at four international studios working on this project."

A premiere trailer was shown off tonight that seems to show off some unique looking environments, larger than life enemies, and special abilities that may remind you of some Destiny-like abilities.

There are two videos to check out. The first is the announcement trailer while the second is a behind the scenes developer video that provides a good deal of additional information.

We now have over 200 developers at four international studios working on this project to make it our most ambitious shooter to date. We’re very excited to finally unveil OUTRIDERS to the world, and we can’t wait to show you more of the game.”

“People Can Fly is the perfect partner for us to create a game like OUTRIDERS. They have a great history of creating high-quality shooters, plus an unmatched level of experience and expertise in the Unreal game engine, unrivalled in the gaming industry,” Said Lee Singleton, Co-Head of Studio at Square Enix External Studios.

“OUTRIDERS is a very exciting project for us at Square Enix External Studios. The big expansion for the not-a-games-as-a-service game from People Can Fly is out now.

Square Enix and People Can Fly released Outriders Worldslayer today, marking the release of the first major expansion for the game that is more looter-shooter and less Destiny.

Worldslayer adds in new story content that will find players traveling across the planet of Enoch and fighting all sorts of nasties. There are obviously new story missions, new places to explore, the endgame...

Square Enix Delays Outriders as New Platforms Added
      by Shawn Zipay
      Good news, bad news time.

Square Enix revealed that Outriders will be pushed back until a Holiday 2020 release window. However, alongside this unfortunate delay news comes word that the People Can Fly developed title is also working on PlayStation 5 and Xbox releases. Yes, that would be an Xbox Series X (Xbox SeX) announcement there, not an Xbox One, and not an OG Xbox. I'm already sick of this console's name.

But it's also coming out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One...
