People Can Fly announced that they have halted development on two projects. As a result of these projects being cancelled, the studio had to "scale down" their teams, which is just a gentle way of saying that layoffs have once again hit the studio.

Two more studios announced layoffs today. Those studios are Black Forest Games and People Can Fly.

Black Forest Games is the studio behind the remakes for Destroy All Humans! and Destroy All Humans! 2. The studio reportedly laid off roughly 50% of its entire workforce. In 2023, Black Forest Games reportedly had 110 employees, meaning that about 55 people are now out of a job today. These layoffs were announced on January 24th.

You have three days to try out the not-Destiny action title from Square Enix.

From right now, that being Monday, June 20, 2022, through to Thursday, June 23, you are able to play Outriders for free through Steam.

Square Enix sounds proud of the reception to this new looter-shooter.

Square Enix and developer People Can Fly, have just released their action-RPG, Outriders. This game is very much not a games as a service (GAAS) title. I want to make that clear right from the get-go because there seems to be a lot of assumptions made about it since it's a game that just happens to look like games that are GAAS titles out there.

Xbox Game Pass owners get a special day one delivery.

The delay is for "fine tuning" of the game.

Fresh from The Game Awards.

Last night, Square Enix revealed a new trailer for Outriders, their RPG-shooter hybrid from People Can Fly. This new trailer, as shown during The Game Awards, introduces players to the "Mantras of Survival."

In short, you need to "think aggressive" for your play style in Outriders.

Outriders is looking to be released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on February 2, 2021. A Stadia release is coming later in 2021....
