Of all the Resident Evil remakes, this one is the best selling.

Capcom says that the recently released Resident Evil 4 remake is selling very, very well. In its first two days of availability, Resident Evil 4 sold over three million copies.

To give a bit of comparison here, the Resident Evil 2 remake from 2019 took a week to hit two million copies shipped. 2020's remake of Resident Evil 3 sold 3.9 million units sold after a year and a half. Both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 were also released across more platforms than Resident Evil 4.

If you are at all in doubt about picking up the Resident Evil 4 remake, put aside that doubt and pick it up. It's extremely good. Plus, Capcom recently announced that The Mercenaries DLC is coming, for free, on April 7. The VR mode for PlayStation VR and PlayStation VR2 is also coming, for free, in the future. Some datamining also seems to suggest that the Separate Ways DLC from the original game will also be released for this remake at some point.
