Capcom held a small stream today where they revealed new information about some upcoming releases. Of the news revealed during this Capcom Spotlight event is word that a demo for Resident Evil 4 is now available!

The rain effects seen in recent trailers will be altered with a patch.

Capcom says they are readying a day one patch for the upcoming Resident Evil 4 remake that will, among other things, tone back the jarring rain effects seen in recently gameplay footage. Those rain effects were the subject of many fan complaints after people found the effects to be too distracting and outright lacking in quality.

When the Resident Evil 4 remake comes out on March 24, 2023, there will be a notable exception to the release lineup. Resident Evil 4 will be out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That's right, there is no Xbox One version being released by Capcom.

The remake is coming March 24, 2023.

Capcom opened this evening's State of Play in grand fashion by announcing and showing off our first look at the Resident Evil 4 remake they have been quietly working on. Capcom is calling this remake "reawakened" but that does not seem to be an actual part of the game's title, instead opting to just call this Resident Evil 4.

The voice actor behind Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil franchise seems to have intentionally broken an NDA with Capcom to share confidential concept art for the unannounced Resident Evil 4 remake. This comes after a supposed overhaul of plans for the remake.

According to sources close to videogamechronicle.com, development of the as of still unannounced Resident Evil 4 remake may run afoul. It was expected that new studio, M-Two, was working on the remake for Capcom. However, their role may have been "significantly reduced" after some creative differences with Capcom Division 1, Capcom's main Resident Evil studio.
